We had dinner on a busy and demanding Friday evening. We received a warm welcome and the service was maintained at a very high standard throughout. The food was excellent. Our menu choice was the rib of beef for two and it was cooked to perfection. The venue was noisy but not in a negative way. Vibrant!

Gees is a vibrant venue - light, airy, quite noisy. Better suited to a group night out (as we were), rather than a dinner for two. It was busy, but service was good. The menu has a number of interesting dishes that are not too common - a traditional, or fussy, diner might struggle to make a choice. The most... More

I fully concur with the comments posted by Wytham of Oxford and Paulas of Birmingham Our experience was just the same. A busy menu but still difficult to choose something I would like. Asparagus with egg was ok but the crab over battered. The lamb to share main was excellent but the venison chops could have been anything, tough and... More

We did not make a reservation but were made very welcome by the ollive geen aproned servers. The theme in the conservatory restaurant is herbs and olives. We were offered crisp radishes with our drinks. We chose a simple starter of a crispy pitta or mini pizza with ham and tomato which was served with a tasty dressed salad. We... More

On arrival at Gee's we were anticipating a fabulous night celebrating a neice's birthday as the setting is fabulous, however, the good feelings were quickly quashed.... no one acknowledged our arrival, and it took a while for someone to notice we were propping up the bar. The service at the bar was good and it was nice to be given... More

We went to Gee's with friends soon after the recent refurbishment, and what an amazing venue it has become. I had been before on several occasions, and although the food has always been good, I did find the venue, and atmosphere a little, dare I say, pompous and stuffy. What a change now however: trees in the conservatory, new chairs tables,... More

I was excited to return to Gees, having not eaten there for some years. The setting is marvelous, in the old conservatory, but because of the hard surfaces it can get a bit noisy. The menu options looked quite creative and we were enticed into having such delights as duck hearts on brioche for a starter and rabbit shoulders for... More

On our visits last week, 3 times, we were welcomed, and made to feel 'special' by the staff, who we found to be friendly and knowledgeable; we liked the freshness and lightness of the environment. We found the food imaginatively presented, all delicious, and reasonably priced. Would recommend highly.

The new Gees is well worth going to. We had a great meal set in a delightful location - perfect on a summer evening. The service is great

We thought we would try the restaurant after its recent refurbishment. Apart from a few trees in the conservatory it didn't look very different. We've had good dinners here in the past. But unfortunately Sunday lunch wasn't good at all. The food was very very dull all 3 of us weren't at all thrilled by it. It was adequate cafe... More
