Whitby is famed for seafood, but unfortunately I don't like fish. Athough not cheap, I can honestly say we had one of the best fillet steaks we hae ever tasted. The sauce was delicious, the accompanying veg cooked perfectly. Service was excellent and the staff, friendly and efficient. Wonderful.
This was our 3rd visit to this restaurant and as usual it was excellent.
We visited Luna Piena for my wifes birthday. We promptly ordered our food, the starters came out in about 20 minutes. The wait for the main courses was over 40 minutes, too long and i started to get aggitated. On top of this the restaurant was getting hotter and hotter. We visited this restaurant after walking past it the previous evening and noticing that it was busy, On arrival we were impressed: friendly and helpful staff; elegant decor and proper linen napkins; and an interesting menu. We were slightly surprised by the prices: £8 - £9 for a pizza seemed reasonable, but the pasta dishes averaged £12 - 13 and...

Having arrived in Whitby for a weekend break ,we went to the Luna Piena on a friday evening. Not really knowing what to expect due to some websites saying there is a Thai restaurant at the address. The restaurant is reasonable size and nicely done decor. The menu has a good selection of starters and main courses. The starters we...

We both ordered steak, mine was a plain sirloin, my husbands was in a rich sauce, both were as tender as could possibly be, and most enjoyable. The service was friendly, the surroundings pleasant. We will definitely eat here again.
We found this place by accident on a short trip to Whitby and enjoyed it so much that we ate there each evening. The food was beautiful and the staff attentive but discreet. We will certainly book another meal next time we visit Whitby.
We ate at this restaurant last week. We sat at our table for 10 minutes before the waitress came to take our order, unfortunately she had not given us a menu at that point. We eventually ordered the crab ravioli starter, this didn't arrive for 45 minutes. The ravioli was nothing special and was served in a dish full of olive...

Went to the Luna Piena last Saturday evening and booked in advance, just as well as it was full.We didn't have a starter and both had the sliced sirloin in a tomato & garlic sauce - it was like cutting butter - didn't really need the steak knives we were given! Our desserts were great as well.Had to wait a while...
