Quality place and quality good! As a lover of fish and after tried the majority of Restaurants in Whitby, I can honestly say this beats them all! Definitely worth a try.

One of my favourite Fish and Chip restaurants when in Whitby tucked away at the end of Baxtergate, however I still don't see why, if you want the fish skinned you have to have the Cod, surely they can skin Haddock as well, anyway, decent value and enjoyable meal, don't know what they are like from the Takeaway as we...

Me & my daughter had fish & chips to take away. They let us eat them inside because the cafe was closed & it was cold outside. There didn't look that many at first but there was plenty. Very tasty indeed.
Read the reviews and tried some take away fish and chips during our stay in Whitby. Very disappointed in the quality, didn't taste nice and we threw most of them away.
We made a bee-line for this fish restaurant as we had eaten their before. Gorgeous chunky cod and delicious crinkly chips. We went as a family of four. 3 adults, one child. Good size child portion. However, as it was busy we felt a little pressured to vacate the table. No sooner had we eaten our last mouthful and the...

If you want the best fish and chips in town then this is the place to be. I never go anywhere else in whitby to buy my fish and chips. The restaurant is at the end of Baxtergate, opposite Boyes department store so you have to go a little out of your way to find it, but it is well...

We've had the takeaway from Royal Fisheries every Easter for the last 8 years or so and have always thought they were the best in Whitby, just delicious. This year, weather being so cold, we decided to eat in. We were served quickly by a helpful waitress and about ten minutes later our food arrived. They were just ok, nothing...

Usually have fish and chips at Magpies when we visit whitby but this time we ventured across royal fisheries and decided to give them a try. Our fish was cooked fresh in front of us and the chips were crinkle cut and tasted amazing, lovely hot and crispy !! So pleased we found this place will be back again, such...

Cod and chips twice with tea, beer and bread and butter AND mushy peas. Our son had steak pie with chips. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo scrummy. Being from Whitby I know this place is off the beaten track and a place where "locals" EAT. ALWAYS tasty fish and chips.
Really good quality fish and chips - go for the North East special which is a good sized portion. Not the cheapest around but well worth the money.
