It was a great pub during 2010 & 2011. Beer very good and food was superb when a chef called Alan was in charge of the kitchen. Head of bar, Sam, very popular. Now new owners have taken over and are clearly penny pinching. Changed chef and food no longer great, disgruntled staff and unhappy locals. Change of management would... More

This used to be a wonderful local (we live opposite) but the new landlord is amongst the rudest men I have encountered in the service industry. We went in this evening (Sunday) for a quick pint. It was pretty full of people having Sunday dinners, but we were barely through the door, when he came forward and said, 'Sorry, no... More

We had been meaning to eat here for a while living very close by and it looked promising. Went on a Friday evening, fairly busy with a real mix of people, which was refreshing. Staff friendly and helpful and the food was very good indeed. My wife is a bit of a foody and she was impressed. Little touches like... More

The blackboard outside The Noble announced: "Good food, good beer, good people."  We were also informed that "Michelle and her team" wanted to greet us, but said team appeared to include a dog, which was hardly auspicious. At 1 pm on a Sunday, we were the first to occupy a table, so we thought that a recent change in management... More

The space occupied by The Noble used to be a rather seedy gay pub with darkened windows and equally dark fixtures and fittings. It then went through a brief phase as a sort of 'squishy sofas' place before being taking over by a very enthusiastic, young Australian chef who clearly knew what 'Pacific rim' was and wanted to enlighten the... Not much to say. Too crowded, only two staff serving approximately 60 people, long delays in receiving both drinks and food, culminating in me arranging my own cutlery and condiments! Sullen waitress, inept manager who had no idea how to run a restaurant, large number of young children in a pub completely unsuitable for them (why do people bring little... More

A great little pub serving fantastic food with a good selection of beers. The food is a notch above the average pub fare with a small changing blackboard menu and a selection of small sharing plates on offer. It's won me over since the (also good) old dairy restored it's TV's. The perfect place to spend a Saturday night with... More

I come here all the time, the best gastro-pub in the area for food, the tapas are particularly good value and the cider selection is nice and big. Sunday roasts are a must, they are massive and extremely tasty. The pub is small enough to get a lively crowd with great atmosphere in on a Fri and Sat nite, and... More

I often drink here, but rarely eat the food. It is okay... they do various main courses or small tasting menu style dishes. There are so many better places to eat in the area though. It is one of the nicest places to drink in, especially if you want somewhere a little quieter than the big Old Dairy just down... More
