An amazing little place a few yards from Embankment tube. I had no idea it was here until I was let into the secret, underground section has low carved out stone ceilings, extremely atmospheric. Very crowded in the early evening with the spill-out from work crowd. Had the best Rioja of my life here, can buy half bottles too which... More

Gordons has been all time favourite. Was introduced by a friend and tried probably the most delicious Pinot Noir, the name which Tripadvisor does not allow to be published, which apparently is specially created for Gordons. In fact every bottle of wine I have had there has been lovely. I keep going back there for the wine but the bar... More

love the vaulted ceilings and cellar-y-ness. I haven't been there for a few years (children interfere with wine consumption) but it is a great place, used to be harder to find when there was no sign at street level. Fear not, walk bravely down the stairs.

The character and the ambiance is amazing - if you can get in. It's small - but the wine and the food are tasty. TIP: go on a Sunday early afternoon - you can get a Sunday roast (lovely selection of various bits) or a help yourself ploughman's lunch buffet. This place is really a must - you won't regret... Its a great place to have some wine - havent had the food! the outdoor seating area is the main attraction, its the longest ive seen in London so a great place to spend a day or evening with friends. The basement where you order the drinks is incredibly cramped, but rustic! I found the service slightly rude but it... More

When it comes to wine you get what you pay for and at Gordon’s, the price is right and the quality is right. I have been visiting Gordon for more than 10 years now and I have been disappointed only ONCE with ONE bottle of wine amongst hundreds! I retuned it and it was exchange for free. During the last... I love Gordons, always feel like you have left rest of the world behind you when you enter the dark "cave like" atmosphere. Every one she visit when in London. Food and wine excellent, a great place for a romantic lunch or to people watch, love it!

As with many other reviews, this place must be seen, too cool for school, you just don't take photos of the place as you'll look like a tourist!! The choice of wine is varied and to be honest £17.50 for a Pinot Grigio is a tad pricey but the atmosphere is worth it. They do a great cheese board offering,... More

One of my favourite places in London in a fantastic location near Embankment Tube- a hidden gem. Go for the feeling of history, the atmosphere, the port straight from the barrel and the excellent cheeses. Unfortunately the wine could be cheaper and the service is a bit brusque. But overall, well worth it. I think the best value wine is... More

Following a recommendation, a friend and I went to Gordon's to share a bottle of wine and catch up. I was shocked at how packed the place was... but we got a seat after not too long, thankfully. The wine was lovely and I really liked the extensive outside area and the cavern seating inside.... sitting beside a damp wall,... More
