Description: Chef Claude Bosi originally opened Hibiscus in Ludlow, where he won his first Michelin star in 2001 and a second three years later. In 2007, the restaurant was relocated to Maddox Street where it has become one of Londons most celebrated dining destinations, and was named as one of the World's 50 Best Restaurants in 2011 (one of only 4 UK restaurants to receive this honour) . Having trained under top French chefs like Alain Passard and Alain Ducasse, Claudes cooking has an unmistakably Gallic flourish and a strong sense of seasonality. His menu features show-stopping dishes like foie gras parfait; roast black bream stuffed with girolles; and confit leg of Brittany rabbit. The dining room is an understated and elegant space, allowing the fine wine and flawless food to take centre stage. Suitable for business lunches and romantic dinners alike, Hibiscus offers a truly unforgettable experience.

My husband and I visited Hibiscus a couple of weeks ago, not for the first time, but not having been for a couple of years. Looking through the literature upon arrival I was looking forward to some luxury seafood, as I'm not a meat eater. Not only did we not have a choice of menu, the chef chose our meals... More

After being impressed by the young 2nd chef Marcus McGuiness on the BBC 2 Great British menu, when booking for our anniversary we decided to give Hibiscus a try. We had a really memorable evening. A relaxing friendly setting with nice privacy between tables. Staff were so helpful but not over bearing which can sometimes be the case. We went... More

My Dad and I visited Hibiscus recently as it was one of the few restaurants in the West End we haven't exhausted. With the chef's reputation we were looking forward to some exciting flavours but unfortunately it didn't quite live up to expectations. The decor is very simple and dare I say - safe? White tablecloths and dim lighting sum... More

We had lunch here with friends on Monday, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. From the moment we walked through the door the service was friendly, helpful, and completely unpretentious - and also discreet - there was no-one hanging over your shoulder all the time asking if you were enjoying the food. As for the food - before going, we... More

Lunchtime - 3 course tasting menu. Phenomenal food which challenged and excited in equal measure. The wine was superb and well matched by the sommelier. The atmosphere is low key, but not austere, the staff are very friendly & professional. The whole setup allows the food to be the star attraction - and it is. Also, (comparatively) good value. Excellent.

Hmmm - I don't really know what to make of various critical reviews of Hibiscus - other than to wonder if their authors actually exist in some kind of parallel universe. Three of us dined at Hibiscus on a busy Monday night and had a lot of fun eating superb food, debating some envelope-pushing taste combinations, and some wonderfully matched... More

Menu was average and the food quality was reasonable; sadly I had higher expectations. Desserts were disappointing - a lemon stuffed with sorbet is the kind of thing I'd expect to get in a local curry house to be quite honest. Service was good, however, the Sommelier was helpful and the wine was very good. Atmosphere on a weekday lunchtime... More

Hibiscus is in the heart of W1 - understated decor, its all about the food! Great restaurants produce excellent food and service that surpass customer expectations. However, the genius of Hibiscus Michelin star chef patron Claude Bosi and Head Chef Marcus (Great British Menu) take you on a gastronomic journey with every mouthful. They create a work of art, from... More

We went for our 10 year wedding anniversary. I called twice to be certain they were aware of our special anniversary and to ask if they will do something special. Service: It started out well with attentive service... it was quite empty at the time. Within 30 minutes to an hour, the dining room was filled. At that point, our... More

We took a private dining suite here as a group of 10. The room was fantastic - very nicely decorated and presented. The menu was very appetising and it took a while to choose between the options before preordering. Although the food was very nice, we couldn't help but feel it was missing something...it just didnt feel like it was... More
