a strange location and crammed room does not detract from tapas style sushi plates. Interesting, exotic and very well delivered. A great little restaurant and good date spot
My boyfriend and I were celebrating a good friend's birthday that night and had made reservations ahead of time, a must for this restaurant. The three of us arrived at a small and quaint sushi house and were warmly greeted as we walked in. Unfortunately, even though we had made reservations, for a birthday nonetheless, we were given seats at... More
Had dinner with two girlfriends and an excellent experience. Place is small, tucked away close to Baker St / Marylebone and a lovely find. Small so must book in advance. Cosy bar area then tables downstairs. Food was excellent. Pros: Great food, traditional dishes plus some interesting creative twists on Japanese cuisine Quick, efficient service Small, cozy and fun ambience... More
A small place with minimal ambience and no signage outside. Just creative and good food. Not a cheap place but still good value and looking forward to returning as enough dishes left that we wanted to try.
Stopped by for lunch. Despite seemingly ok valued lunch set we instead went a la carte. The regular menu just sounds too interesting to pass up! Generally we went away rather impressed. Naturally good quality Japanese food (translates to expensive ingredients) are not cheap. However, the portions at Dinings are very fair, and consistently across the many dishes we ordered.... More
My son asked for Japanese as a choice of food for his birthday lunch treat. Having just seen the Sunday Times food list with Dinings at no 45 in the country I thought we'd give it a go. It's also worth noting that although it was 45 out of 100 it was also 5th cheapest on the list. It came... More
This is officially mt favourite restaurant in in London. And I eat a lot. Every time I have been here the food has been fantastic, the atmosphere warm and intimate, and the sake always hits the spot.
When I lived in London, Dinings was about 3 blocks away...the food at this restaurant easily bests Nobu and other high end Japanese in London. Sit at the bar and watch the chefs work their craft, but don't forget to order the black cod. Nearly impossible to get a reservation though, and we were considered locals!
My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant on a Saturday night having been lucky enough to get a last minute cancellation, and what we experienced was maybe the best food we've ever had. Every dish was impeccable, and although it looks pricey, £100 a head including wine for food of this standard is very reasonable. Service was brilliant, very friendly... More
This is a great lunchtime treat, relaxed environment yet buzzy.. Sushi is delicious - my favourite options were soft shell crab, fatty tuna, yellow tail, lobster miso soup (yummy), and spicy tuna sushi rolls.. Wasn't overly impressed with black cod - too sweet for me. Puddings were ok but if I could go back I would gladly miss that in... More
