We travel to London every Christmas for a girls shopping day and always start with breakfast in the fountain at fortnum and mason for a touch of class , last year we decide that was our last , the area is now in need of a refurbishment ,sad but true. The dust on the shelf was so bad it looked... More

I take my illustration students as part of a cultural day trip into London after popping in The Royal Academy. The window displays (especially at this time of year) are always impressive, the decor exquisite and the ambiance sedate and refined - a welcome oasis from the shopping hell that is Oxford Street.

What a rip off! The staff are rude and unwelcoming and need to understand who is the customer! I think they are too used to catering to tourists and don't expect a recall but the service and the way the staff treat customers is appalling. And then the food! Average at best and that's being generous! I've eaten here many... More

It was my first visit to Fortnum and Mason, and I was surprised how small the store was in relation to other famous London Stores. It was all beautifully laid out, with lots of interesting items (such as those for the Jubilee), and the chocolate counter was wonderful, if pricey. There were also a number of different places to eat... More

I have tried many afternoon teas in LOndon, and this has to be among the very best. Not cheap, but a great treat. Old fashioned and good at being so.Fantastic-the grandparents loved it.

Went here for High Tea. Needed a reservation for the RITZ (which we were told was the best High Tea in London) and so they wouldn't let us in but instead referred us here. It was wonderful. The lobster omlette was fantastic. You can have as many of the cakes and pasteries as you want. They even boxed some up... More

You can't beat Fortnum's. Great food, service, style and value. The perfect place for lunch in London - to be followed by some fabulous shopping. The fish is always super fresh and tasty, never overcooked and the salads come highly recommended. I just hope not too many people find out just how good this is!!!
