Description: Bevis Marks is a bustling kosher restaurant situated in the busy heart of the City of London. Beautifully modern, Bevis Marks is decorated with real taste, the understated, expensive looking dcor just right for the typical clientele from the local financial institutions and offering a sophisticated setting for the more intimate of occasions. Head Chef Anthony Broster has a fine pedigree, bringing his food skills with him from no less than Smiths of Smithfield and giving traditional British dishes and kosher classics a contemporary gourmet slant while maintaining all the beloved tradition of Jewish favourites. Interesting features like a non-dairy dessert list and a surprisingly varied and high quality (but still all kosher) wine list featuring the best of Israeli boutique vineyards, mark Bevis Marks as an exciting member of the City restaurant scene with something different to offer.

Fantastic food, easily the best kosher restaurant in London. Pricey but worth it for a special occasion. The number of suits at lunchtime is testament to the quality. Location is a little off the beaten track, and food came very quickly between courses but don't let that put you off. They should open a branch in NW London or the... More

The setting was lovely. That said, the rest was not. The selections and serving portions were tiny. The food was average in taste and exorbitantly priced. The service was not good.

I visited the restaurant with a large group of colleagues. I would say the food is distinctly average, my steak was poor and very chewy indeed but the large chips were OK and the chocolate desert lacked any real flavour. Its not a cheap place so we expected standards to be higher than this. Service was acceptable and visually its... More

This was my first kosher experience and I didn't really know what to expect. Having had it, it seems I wouldn't have noticed if I wasn't told on the way in. I heard the chicken soup was delicious - but I had the shredded salt beef with thai noodles; which was also very good. I had the duck breast as... More

Another reviewer complained of the prices charged. We can only agree. The food for the most part was really awful and the wine was worse. The restaurant itself was a delight in decoration but didn't fit a kosher meal. My advice would be to go and see the lovely synagogue attached and go elsewhere for a meal. A wise rule... More

Food was good compared to the other London restaurants I visited. Cant compare to NY restaurants though. The ambiance was beautiful service quick and courteous. I would definitely revisit.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Bevis Marks, the boss made us feel so welcome and the staff were very professional and helpful. The food was on par with any non kosher fine dining restaurant and I also thought it was great value for money as the portions were of a good size. The wine menu was very extensive for... More

My husband and I took relatives visiting from Canada to the restaurant for lunch. It is in such an unusual setting. Entry is through a courtyard next to the oldest functioniing synagogue in the UK. The decor is attractive with a lovely wooden grid ceiling through which you can see a glass roof and sky (rain in our case -... More
