Description: Not many restaurants have a loyalty scheme, which just goes to show how very loyal Rowley's long-time regulars happen to be. The room is traditionally British, but also informal and relaxed. The menu changes monthly, and always features Rowley's tremendously good char-grilled entrecote steak or breast of Sussex chicken with herb and butter sauce and endless chips. The trad Caeser salad is also terrific. Short, intelligent wine list and the sun-dried tomato chutney served with the cheese is just right. Great for business lunches, or pre- or post-theatre.

Six of us went to Rowley's on Wednesday evening and had a wonderful meal. This was my second visit and it was just as good the second time round. They do a number of house specials and three of us had the chicken, with unlimited French fries. This followed asparagus with poached egg and hollandaise which was just delicious. They... More

I often use this restaurant after the theatre, especially when visiting the Coliseum/English National Opera, as they serve till 10.45and you get a 50% off food voucher with your ticket. I frankly simply don't recognise the iffy experiences described by fellow reviewers. There is a traditional and rather old-fashioned air to the place, which I find relaxing. I always have... More

I have eaten twice at Rowleys. The first time was in March 2011. Although expensive for what it was, the food was OK and the service was friendly and efficient. Given the location and the nice look of the place, I suppose you have to expect to pay a premium, and we enjoyed the experience enough to want to return... More

We had a voucher which made it much better value, but I wouldn't eat here if I had to pay full price.

I bought a "Living Social" voucher for this restaurant months ago and recently realised it was due to expire at the beginning of May. Hence, my partner and I decided to use it and we took our first day out together since the birth of our first child 5 months ago and we had genuinely high hopes of a nice... More

We were so looking forward to enjoying a good restaurant in London as I had eaten here on several occasions a number of years ago. From the moment we stepped through the door, I noticed that Rowley's clearly wasn't the same. Several tables at the front of the restaurant hadn't been cleared and once we were seated it took 15... My son and I on a trip to London had been recommended to try Rowleys in London and am glad we did. After many a disastrous (& expensive) meal in London what a treat to go somewhere where the food was of a great quality and service excellent. I never mind paying a little more if I come away from... I have been going to Rowleys for several decades. I was given a 50% discount voucher with some theatre tickets I had booked. I had the usual, steak, chips , salade and wine. Had the house wine, a 6oz steak and one salad between two people. Two coffees. I was shocked at the bill. It would have come to £99.34... More

My wife and I went to Rowley's this past Friday evening for a nice dinner. We had a voucher for the restaurant and were excited to try a new place. In general, Rowley's truly wasn't that bad. The atmosphere was classy and it was a good location right off Piccadilly Circus. However, the combination of fairly poor staff and overpriced... More

No-one expects cheap prices in good restaurants in London but you expect quality and something special. The service here is attentive, efficient and friendly but the food is a disappointing. This is not high end dining but the simple menu is appealing and that should be its strength. It fails! For a restaurant with a reputation for steak, you would... More
