Description: Awana restaurant, in London's Sloane Avenue in the heart of Chelsea, is one of the most stylish places youll ever sample Malaysian street food. Holding the title for London's finest Malaysian experience, the satay bar and restaurant are a welcoming blend of lush silk panels, glass screens and dark wood interiors. Fine Malaysian eateries are a rarity in London, which makes Awana even more appealing - no wonder a young, well-heeled Chelsea crowd flocks here to sample the imaginative and extensive dishes. And if you think youve had chicken satay, you wont believe how delicate and different the Awana offering is. Its a revelation. Dont miss the kari ayam or a spicy sambal. Never had Malaysian food before? The Malaysian Journey tasting menu is a great place to start. Awana means in the clouds - this is heavenly dining indeed.

I had dinners at the Awana restaurant several times and I thought that due to the great experiences I had every time, it was worth posting a review to recommend this restaurant. The service is amazing, very sharp, kind and professional. Even though the restaurant is always full, you never have to wait too long for your dishes. This restaurant... More

I have eaten much better, more authentic Malaysian food in hawker centres & street markets in Malaysia & Singapore. The extent of the menu at Awana is limited than I would have expected and hoped for. It does not take me long to decide whether I want to pay for surroundings or food quality. C & R Cafe & Restaurant,... More

A group of six coworkers and I had dinner recently at Awana on the advice of our hotel concierge. We were in an awful hotel, so that should have tipped us off that the recommendation would not be reliable either. Awana bills itself as a Malaysian/Thai restaurant, but the Thai dishes must be on a special menu because we didn't... More

This place was really buzzing - lots of folk in their early 20's out for a good time; couple of large tables and lots of couples and foursomes. Waiting was terrific. Calm, polite friendly and very efficient. We saw them handle a table of a dozen women with real ease. You can see the chef working in the kitchen, courtesy... More

We went on a Groupon offer, and were surprised to find that the main did not include rice so this instantly added £10 to the bill for 2. This included a compulsory 12.5% service charge. The starter was 2 bland prawn filled spring rolls the width of a pencil cut in 2, without a garnish in sight. The main -... More

Visited this restaurant last night and was very unimpressed. The food was mediocre at best, and the service was some of the slowest I've experienced. We went on a Groupon deal, which perhaps had something to do with the above, but if so they have completely missed the point of Groupon - to attract new customers (as I know for... More

We attended the restaurant believing that the offer was for a selection from the menu. This was not the case they have a special 'Groupon menu' with limited dishes available. Although these dishes appear on the main menu they are simplified. So with 4 jasmine teas, two bowls of rice and a portion of ice cream the additional bill came... More

This restaurant would not survive anywhere else in London other than in Sloane land with a clientele on the door step with more money than sense and no taste. Some dishes were adequate though none were exceptional - however in one main beef dish the meat was stringy and virtually inedible. Smart décor and waiting staff in uniform do not... More

Had a dinner here with another couple. We all enjoyed our meal, although there were a few problems with some dishes but they were promptly relpaced, so no big deal. The meal was rather expensive but it's expected in Chelsea, so I can't complain too much. Food was lovely. Service was good. Good selection of wine - overall 4*.
