Description: Since opening in Belgravia in 1995, Zafferano has become one of Londons most popular and highly regarded Italian restaurants. The interior combines rustic exposed brickwork with stylish contemporary furniture to create a relaxed setting for low-key lunches and romantic dinners. And it seems that all of Knightsbridge, Belgravia and high-end London finds its way here for lunch and supper. Chef Andrew Needham is passionate about honest, wholesome Italian cuisine presented with flair but without fuss, allowing the flavours to speak for themselves. Zafferanos menu includes dishes like pan-fried scallops with saffron vinaigrette; linguine with lobster and fresh tomato; and fillet of beef with celeriac, leeks and red wine sauce. When they are in season, autumnal truffles appear on a dedicated tasting menu perfect for special occasions. Zafferano restaurants wine list includes an excellent Tuscan section and the bar serves a wide range of cocktails and aperitifs.

This is an excellent restaurant that captures a little formality along with good casual ambiance. This has been our favourite restaurant when we come into London for business - not too expensive, great selection, great specials, and a very good wine selection. Great Italian restaurnat that won't blow your budget.

I have had couple of lunches here and they always deliver the best whether its ingredients, service or atmosphere. I can highly recommend this place. To me its a very close call between the Zafferano and Locanda Locatelli. Both of them are just great but Zafferano is a bit more casual which has its advantages.

Beyond delicious... great service. I was fortunate in not having to pay, as it is very expensive. I had mozzarella to start, it was beautiful; turbot as main (best main course I have EVER had) and panna cotta with basil and strawberries, on a par with the best panna cotta I have EVER had (in River Cafe).

I have visited this restaurant over the years and the food has never been anything but excellent. The service too is excellent and they are very polite. Good wine list.

Visited with table of 3 on Saturday night. Food slightly above average, we had a 3 courses. Can find much better for the price. Service arrogant, bearing on comical (taking away dishes before finishing, removing olive oil without asking and placing on table next to us without asking is rude and unacceptable. Seemed to be two tier service for regulars... More

We have eaten here on several occasions and the food cannot be faulted nor the service. Wine menu is excellent with good wines form the south of Italy which is good. Ottimo, ci ritornero!

Had an enjoyable family dinner here. Sophisticated setting, friendly service. Food and wine both excellent, albeit on the pricey side. Recommend the prosecco. Good for a romantic occasion too.

We came here on a recent vacation and our meal here was probably the best overall of the trip. Every course was perfect. I had the burrata and tomatoes, which were extremely flavorful and really made the dish. The pasta dishes were all good, but the seemingly plain pasta with tomatoes and onions was the hit of the night. The... More

We were staying next door at the Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel, and took our 2 young daughters for dinner there one night. The food and the service was great. Unfortunately, they don't have a kids menu. However, they have a great Spaghetti Bolognese, that every child would love!
