Description: The first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two, and then three Michelin stars, Le Gavroche remains a class apart. Since opening in 1967, this Mayfair bastion of French cuisine has been very much a family affair, and chef-patron Michel Roux Jr continues the tradition today. The elegance of the menu and the ambience is impeccably tailored, while the discreet service has won its own plaudits.

We had a wonderful evening at Le Gavroche on the 22nd May. I went there with my fiancé for his 30th birthday. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We were so delighted when Michel Roux Jr came over especially to our table before our meal, to wish happy birthday! We had the menu exceptionnel and enjoyed each of the... More

Monday 21st May - the day of our first ever visit to a Michelin starred restaurant and so a fair bit of trepidation as to what to expect but we need not have worried. On a lovely sunny evening we walked from our hotel to Upper Brook Street and looked across the road to see the restaurant with its front... More

Spent a lovely afternoon with family at Le Gavroche. It is true to say that the decor is very traditional and perhaps old fashioned, but this is exactly what makes this restaurant different to the majority of other Michelin star restaurants in London. It is like stepping back in time with superb food, excellent service in a very relaxed environment.... More

The physical facility is very charming. Elegantly appointed, and operated in a flawless manner. The staff was perfect. The wine list complete and well thought out. The menu was incredible, as was the food. Each course was prepared and presented perfectly. This is a truly not to miss restaurant in London.

We had dinner in Le Gavroche last Friday evening. From the moment we walked in the service by all the staff was fabulous. We went for the Menu Exceptionnel. Each course was even better than the last. Michel came to our table and he was just lovely. So down to earth. The whole evening was amazing and totally worth it.... More

From the moment we entered this restaurant we felt welcome and relaxed. Service these days is to me very important as I love to cook very good food at home so the sense of occasion is really important as otherwise I wonder what I am paying for. We had been once for the inclusive lunch and then went back for... More

Having seen the video about Le Gavroche on their website I still wanted to go. I appreciate that the decor may not have been everyones cup of tea but it gave the feel of a members club. I liked the atmosphere as we were seated so we could see what was going on in the restaurant but we still had... More

It was a cold, rainy, grey London day. In such conditions is there anything better than a long lunch with friends? Well yes, having lunch with friends at Le Gavroche! We experienced a warm welcome and faultless service throughout our meal. The lunch menu was extraordinarily good value and would have been almost cheap if we had not gone "off... More

The food in this restaurant is stuck in the 80s. And having since watched a documentary on it I can see that this may have been the intention. The prices are outrageous for the food you get in comparison to other michelin star restaurant. Even Gordon Ramsay is cheaper. And for that much money, it doesn't even taste that nice.... More
