Description: The first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two, and then three Michelin stars, Le Gavroche remains a class apart. Since opening in 1967, this Mayfair bastion of French cuisine has been very much a family affair, and chef-patron Michel Roux Jr continues the tradition today. The elegance of the menu and the ambience is impeccably tailored, while the discreet service has won its own plaudits.

My husband brought me to this restaurant for a birthday surprise. I'm a great fan of Michel Roux, not only does he seem to be a very warm and wonderful person but his skill in the kitchen and his insistence on great service is legendary. I'd always wanted to visit this restaurant. I've eaten in a lot of great restaurants... More

Whilst on holidays in London, we had the opportunity to dine at Le Gavroche on 11.06.2013. From beginning to end, the experience was fantastic, I have long been a fan of Michel Roux and his food and the service did not disappoint. The service, decor and food are classic french and generous in all aspects. Will treasure this experience

After Mrs MM had taken me for lunch as a Birthday treat last August, I promised I would take her back so we could enjoy the tasting menu in the evening. I recall, we discussed at some length the choice of menus when we had lunch. Hindsight is wonderful, I can eat but would never have managed the Tasting menu... More

Hadn't been here for a few years - unchanged and that's good! Fantastic service from drinks to coffee, well staffed without being constantly hovering. Menu exceptionel was taken , the food is everything you would hope for from Michel Roux Jr and the sommelier clearly knows their stuff as the flight of wine was a perfect match

I was taken here as a surprise by my partner on 13th June and it was such an amazing evening from start to finish. The fantastic and flawless service starts as soon as you step through the door, canapés on arrival and superb menu choices. We chose the taster menu which included 8 courses and each one was individually melt... More

Elegant dining room, a tad over-staffed to our minds! Excessively fast service! Incredible wine list! The food was enjoyable but not quite as exquisite as The Landau. I'm not a fan of basement restaurants as i find them somewhat claustrophobic! The highlight of the evening was the attendance at each table by the great and wonderful Michel Roux Jnr!

We had lunch here today and it was brilliant. I am a real fusspot when it comes to service but I could not find fault at all. The food was delicious. We had the lunch menu which is amazing value, £52 for 3 courses, 1/2 bottle of wine, bottle of water and coffee and petit fours. The petit fours were... More

Four of us celebrated two birthdays today at Le Gavroche and had a set 3 course lunch at £52.60 per head, including 2 bottles of good red and white wine and bottled water, coffee and petits fours. Excellent value for money at this level of Mayfair-Michelin *** eating - service was pretty friendly and attentive and neither aloof nor daunting... More

This was a rare treat for the Carroll’s being able to splash out a considerable amount of cash on a lavish lunch. Was it worth it, absolutely!! The service from start to finish was outstanding and the staff made us feel very welcome. We both enjoy good food and have been fortunate enough to eat in some decent places previously... More
