What was once my sandwich shop is now a bijou (tiny ?) tapas bar with a sensibly short menu and good wine selection. The food was high quality and freshly prepared by happy, jolly staff. They coped very well with a very packed bar and multiple orders on a very hot day and it all made for a very pleasant... More

Its all about the ingredients and quality of service. The ham is stil the best in London... it melts on the tongue. The numerous specials are always a delight. They do a great rare Pork dish - lightly browned on the outside and cut into thin strips, the blue cheese walnuts and chicory is a classic, hake and toms are... More

There is nothing complicated about the food here – in fact it’s so simple that the tiny corner of the bar was the kitchen. Chefs were working it like a teppanyaki, a quick stir on the hot surface followed by a sprinkle of sea salt and a drizzle of olive oil. No fancy recipe, no fancy accompaniments, no fancy sauce,... A fantastic little place on super-cool Bermondsey Street. Food, ambiance and the bill at the end of the night will all put a smile on your face. We can't wait to go back. Get there before 6 pm though to be in with a chance of getting a seat

What are you talking about esev8? It just doesn't get any more authentic than Jose? Sure you get wedged in like sardines but that's part of the charm. The best, freshest tapas in town without question, I've been to Jose 4 maybe 5 times and it's always a wonderful, atmospheric, foodie experience. Great sherry list too!
