After a few pints at Hamilton Hall Weatherspoons on Saturday, some mates and I stumbled into Eastern Eye. It was pouring with rain so we didn't want to hang around looking for the best restaurant in Brick Lane. It was busy and they do pack the tables together. After a fair wait our order was taken. I ordered the Lamb... More

Visited this place ..got sent across the road (directy opposite) for a 25% discount (which still worked out quite expensive) - they've expanded apparently. Very small restaurant, cramped and not the best looking of places and toilets were pretty grubby in this place..seemed very keen to please but food just not that great.. meats were fine but the sauce for... We visited this place on the basis of the reviews on here and was very disappointed. Brick Lane is full of curry houses, some good some not so good I'm told, this is definitely one of the latter. I and my companion I visited with travel extensively over the world and make a point of sampling Indian cuisine in as... More

I always feel that Brick Lane is a bit hit and miss - there are so many places and so many touts that it's hard to make a choice in peace. For that reason, I researched the top rated restaurant on the street when I went out with four friends for a curry. They had the same touts on the... More

Hadn't been to Brick Lane for a while and was a bit overwhelmed by the touts trying to lure us into various empty restaurants. Picked this one as I'd heard of it, it looked nice, and it was almost full: a good sign in a street full of eating places. Was not disappointed. The food was excellent. I ordered one... More

Have eaten here three times now and it's consistently very good. Only reason I've scored lower for atmosphere is because like all of the Brick Lane eateries its so much quieter on a Mon - Wed night. Often they do 20% Excellent Puri to start and popadums are light and crisp. Pickles and accompaniments are excellent. Currys are not too... More

I've been wanting to try a curry at brick lane for years and finally got around to it for a sunday lunch treat. There are a multitude of curry houses down brick lane. This one I can heartily recommend. I love curry and have eaten at loads of curry houses around the UK and London. This is by far the... More

We spent two weeks in London in November, and since our flat was near Brick Lane we decided to go with the opinions of other reviewers and try the Eastern Eye. An excellent decision on our part! This is a terrifically good restaurant!! Bright and clean, the service although on occasions slow, was nonetheless friendly and effective, and the food... More

My girlfriend and I have now visited twice as we live off Brick Lane. We have been very happy with our food both times. The food is excellent and good value. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation.
