Description: The Pantechnicon Rooms Public House and Dining Room might sound like it was named after a critter in a Philip Pullman novel, but this elegant neighbourhood eatery in Belgravia is actually named for the historic building on Motcomb Street where it is located. The building once housed the antiques and artworks of London's aristocracy, and today serves up gourmet dinners to the city's posh professionals. The Pantechnicon's understated dining room boasts a chic brasserie vibe and a caramel, cream and gunmetal grey colour scheme, and is the perfect place for old-school Sunday roasts and business lunches. The venue also has a ground floor bar ideal for pre-dinner drinks, and we love the steak tartare with toast and the Gressingham duck with confit sweet potato pure and port roasted figs.

I came here with my partner on my last two visits to London. It was a short walk from our hotel. What can I say that some of the other reviewers have not already said. Food and service was fantastic. Desserts are a little on the small side, but delicious. We had the Chocolate & hazelnut macaroon and Banana caramel... More

Eat at this place every time I am in London The cocktails are creative and delicious (try the spicy mango or bitter orange) The apps are creative especially enjoy the pate and the calamari For mains the beef bavette is delicious but the highlight is the truffle mash that accompanies it Only downside is it is pricey! (but to be... More

Came here with a friend for the first time last Saturday. Must confess I was a bit put off on arrival downstairs as it resembled a crèche! Waited for my friend to arrive with I must say one of the best Gin&Tonics I've had in recent history, and then went upstairs to a very nice dining room. Service was absolutely... More

Four of us dined here on a recently Saturday night. Really outstanding food but the main course portions were absurdly small (we had the salmon as well as the fish special). Good service, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, decent wine list. We'll go back, even with small portions. We all had starters, main, dessert and coffee and it was about £50/person... More

We dined here on a Friday night with some friends. This "pub" is in Chelsea on the very nice Motcomb street. Upon entering we expected not to find our friends and had planned to have a drink while waiting. The pub doesn't really have a place where people can stand and have a drink while waiting other than outside, which... More

As this is my neighborhood haunt, I come here once a week for drinks, breakfast, dinner and even Sunday Roast. If you can score a table outside and the sun is shining, there is no better place to waste away the day. Located on arguably the most picturesque street in all of London, the food here is superb! I take... More

My wife and I visited without reservation for Saturday lunch. Our window table was small and there was not much space between tables. Our food (vegetarian pie for the wife, 'Market Fish' hake for me) was well cooked the ingredients of high quality. Our desserts were also fine. The price was fair and the service very good. Excellent wine by... More

We went here on a recent visit to London after first trying a sister restaurant, Thomas Cubitt. We ate in the first floor dining room which was quiet and relaxing. We had the bone in sirloin which was incredibly flavorful. The sides were similarly good - the cider braised cabbage was tender and full of flavor. The service here was... More

Sat outside in one of the small tables in the sunshine watching the world go by. Staff were very attentive and all happy and smiling faces. We both had the Chicken Sales with nuts and squash - very tasty and could have eaten it was, so decided to finish off with a very tasty cheese selection. Would definately visit again... More
