The staff were top quality - efficient, helpful and unobtrusive! The food was very nice - ballotine of rabbit to start, fish main (albeit rather a small portion for the price) and a blood orange parfait (for me) / Manuka honey creme caramel (for my wife!) dessert. Including pre-lunch drinks, bottle of wine, fizzy water, tea/coffee and service -£100 for... More

Ate lunch at this restaurant yesterday before visiting the theatre. The surroundings are delightful - light and airy - and the service and food good. We had the set lunch menu which at £22 for 2 courses and £28 for 3 is exceptional value for central London. Highly recommended.

the food is always good and the service as well - such a delight - even if I only have a brief stay in London, I never miss this - lunch or dinner.

When we visited Fortnum & Mason, we checked out the various restaurants and settled on the Fountain Room for lunch - luckily they had a table free. We had a carafe of freshly made mint refresher to drink; I had their fish pie and DH had the fish and chips. He was very unimpressed with the batter (pale and soggy)... More

Over priced for basic food, that lacked imagination. The service was mediocre, I wondered why we did not need to queue, the food told me everything!!! Had a reservation for breakfast made on line the following day, hastily cancelled that!!

Had previously gone upstairs to the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon for afternoon tea, which was wonderful, but is quite expensive. We returned to the store to purchase something we had forgotten to purchase on our previous visit. Decided to pop into The Fountain for tea and a snack. The atmosphere is very reminiscent of the atmosphere of a 1950's diner... More

Saturday, late lunch needed, no space at the Wolseley, so we tried F&M, not expecting too much really. Starters were delicious, (The Crab & Avocado needed more avocado - the Mozarella salad was perfect ) delicately presented and perhaps expensive at around £11. Mains were equally delicious (Tuna steak perhaps overdone, pity the Cous-cous was fridge temperature - Burger was... More

Just across from The Royal Academy on Piccadilly it is an easy retreat for a great breakfast in pleasant surroundings served in traditional English style. A generous pot of great flavoured tea and a "small portion" of French Rarebit on toast was surprisingly reasonably priced considering the service and the generous amounts. It is also a fascinating place to view... More

After a brief indulgence in the Fortnum & Mason Store, we decided to treat ourselves for lunch at their Fountain Restaurant. We were received with open arms and they found us a table facing a luxurious cabinet. The staff was delightfully attentive. We chose 2 & 3 courses from the set Menu. My starter was Twice Baked Rosary Goat's Cheese... More

My daughter thinks this is the best place ever, we had a lovely waiter who made her a non-alcoholic cocktail and a straw.Fish and chips were really good, Anna had chops and chips equally nice, a treat and special but most enjoyable.
