Description: With more exquisite artwork than a Cork Street Gallery, Odin's is a real one off. So instead of queuing for hours at the Tate Modern feed the tummy and sole at the same time at this unique restaurant. Odin's remains a firm favourite with Harley Street professionals and Fitzrovia locals alike. The interior combines comfortable furnishings with an impressive fine art collection to create a stylish but laid-back venue ideal for long lunches and dinner with friends. The prix fixe menus represent excellent value for money and the diverse wine list caters for all tastes and budgets. Popular dishes from the Anglo-French menu include grilled Dover sole with parsley butter; pan-fried calves liver with bacon; and Dorset crab with avocado, ginger and tomato.

Odins Restaurant, just off Marylebone High Street, has a fiercely loyal following of mainly elderly people, who like the retrochic decor with tighly packed paintings on the walls, the personable maitre d', and the simple cooking. Despite these qualities, or perhaps because of them, there's evidence that Odins is becoming a touch complacent. The greeting was warm and friendly, but... More

This place is still tremendous and hopefully will stay that way. Here's a more detailed observation than my last review: It’s been in London since 1966, and it’s like a London Club. If the height of chic is being unchic, then this is it. The food is very very classic British (which in itself is a contradiction), with enough of... More

This restaurant is slightly off the beaten track, and at first glimpse does not appear to be a restaurant. Traditional restaurant with a traditional menu, excellent service and amazing food! Probably more suited to business lunches or a romantic meal

Re-visiting Odins showed it was as good as ever. A reviving Bloody Mary, suitably spiced, was followed by a fine Crab bisque. But the highlight, and how often can one find this, was a plate of perfectly underdone delicate liver with crispy bacon - perfectly cooked, and utterly delicious. To finish, some intrigueing fig ice cream and a double espresso,... More

Odins has stood the test of time. One of the few remaining places in London where the portions are a proper size. The menu is traditonal, the tables are large, and the carpet on the floor means the conversations are hushed rather than clattery. It's not modern, and I'm glad of that. The decor is also very traditional and comforting.... More

Peter Langan must be turning in his grave! 6 friends visited Odins, his flagship restaurant iand paid over £30 a head for a very mediocre two courses only with tap water and no wine meal. The seabass was terrible and the Roast Best End of Lamb nothing of the sortL hard lamb chops that would shame a downmarket pub Customers... More

We went on a busy Saturday night, pleased to say it was near perfect in every aspect. A proper maitre'd, excellent staff & great ambience. Some very good local bars pre dinner helped to get us ready for some good food. Every course was sublime, nice proportions, perfectly presented & piping hot. The general olde world atmosphere was a real... More

Well to me Odins is like a second home, the quality and friendliness of the staff, the old English Club decoration, combined with a great menu, and superb wine list, well value for money is the key to the restaurant. Established for years, the restaurant runs like clockwork and never fails! Go enjoy

I had not been here for years, but remembered it as stylish, with great food. Went for lunch as a birthday treat for a friend. Service brusque. Glass of Champagne flat. Crab bisque watery. Main courses - duck and rabbit - heavy, with a potato gratin that was greenish-grey and stone cold. Ladies' loo tatty, with flush that didn't work,... More

Unlike some earlier reviewers, I can't fault the service. I found it attentive and friendly. All the food we had was well cooked and well presented. I'm not quite convinced about value for money - nearly £50 per head for 2 courses and one bottle of wine between 4 seemed a little on the high side. (... and that was... More
