Description: Situated in a former Victorian power station, The Light has a gritty, industrial-style interior which reflects its utilitarian origins. This is a chilled, easygoing restaurant that buzzes with a Shoreditch media crowd at lunch, winding down to a more relaxed gathering of locals in the evening. Awful place!! Had table reserved for a friends birthday!! Had the table but no benches/ chairs to sit at!!! Waiting ages to get served and prices are NOT cheap and it's not even decent drink!!! 7.50 for a double vodka/ mixer and the vodka was cheap stuff...... Not even Smirnoff or ant name I have heard of. The Light Bar looks like a former warehouse that has been converted into this trendy bar (the website says it used to be an electric light station), so its really big. I went with mates on Friday night and the place gets really crowded after eight. There is a large area outside, for the smokers. The music is really nice... More

“Managing Director apology”

Just an update, I have meaning to post this for a month or so. I was contacted by the managing director of the Light who apologised for the service I received there. He said staff had undergone retraining. I thought it was quite nice that he had gone to the effort of sending me a message through TripAdvisor. Let's hope... More

A terrible experience. The restaurant manager was incredibly rude and it ruined our night. It started when our group of nine turned up, only to find our booking had been lost. Instead of apologising, the restaurant manager refused to take responsibility, saying she 'couldn't be responsible for every cowboy that answers the phone'.
