I like the ambience. The nice lounge music playing softly in the background. The food and service are great. I don't think they charge VAT.
Being from London the restaurant looks like the inside of someones house( I think it is a house that has been converted). I had the vegetarian pizza was was nice. I also had the garlic bread which was tasty. For dessert I had a coffee ice cream which was served in what looked like a chalice which was slightly odd.... More
As usual with Ask, the food was reliably good, the service attentive without being intrusive, and the whole experience was very enjoyable. The added dimension in Canterbury was to be surrounded with so much history.
After an evening at the Marlowe Theatre, my wife & I thought that we would go for a meal. As is often the case in Canterbury, not a lot was open at this time in the evening, but Ask was. We went through the door, only to be informed by the very pleasant, but distinctly harassed-looking waitress, that "...They were... More
Had a voucher for 25% of food from their website so we came here today for a lunch between activities. 4 adults (2 courses each), 2 children (kids menu) plus drinks was £63 which was great value and the food was very tasty.
Initial impact of this resaurant is one with no soul, bare white walls no floor coverings, plain white small tables with no table cloths, place mats or even a tea light candle to add something.Paper serviates sum up the standard of decoration and atmosphere.Could be called contemporary but this is far from chic. The food was both good and bad generally... More
Before i write this i'll say that i love the Ask restaurant at Westwood in Broadstairs & totally recommend it. Unfortunately Canterbury didn't seem as good. We booked in advance as we wanted to sit in the outside area & relax in the sun. There were 4 of us & we went for a little celebration. We arrived half an... More
Went to Ask with my family to celebrate my wife's birthday. The service was friendly, attentive but unobtrusive and the lunch menu was varied and extensive. We all chose different starters and main courses and everything was enjoyed and polished off with gusto. We had a 25% off voucher so the bill was extremely reasonable however we would have been... The bolognese fetuccine, and the prawn risotto were really good. Restaurant location was also excellent, as it is right beside the river tour we took. The lavatory was very clean and... More
Went here for lunch in a group of 6. Very accommodating staff. Really good portions & all the food was lovely. Great price too as we had a voucher for buy one get one for £3.00 so ended up costing under £10.00 with a drink.
