Description: Right in the middle of central Brighton, Warung Tujuh restaurant is a hit with hometown hipsters and daytrippers alike. Tucked away on Pool Valley only minutes from the beach, this bright and colourful restaurant is named after 'warungs', the roadside food stalls in Indonesia, and the owners here have worked hard to recreate a unique and friendly roadside vibe. Tujuh means the lucky number seven also the address. Warung Tujuh is ideal for parties and group get-togethers, as this space has a feel-good factor and the food is healthy and wholesome. Authentic Indonesian cuisine is what Warung Tujuh is all about, incorporating flavours from across the thousands of Indonesian islands. The menu includes regional recipes from the islands of Indonesia, and aromatic favourites include the sate - marinated meat, seafood and vegetable skewers served with peanut sauce - and the gule kambing which is lamb stew with coconut milk, chillies, spices and candlenuts.

Our first experience of eating in an Indonesian restaurant, we had a fantastic meal in Warung Tujuh and will definitely be back! The food was amazing, spicy as well as really flavoursome. Our starters of Swordfish Satay and fried spicy Squid were perfect and left us anticipating what was to come – and we were not disappointed. The Sea Bream... More

I love this place, its a small but charming place tucked away behind Pool Valley just off East Street. I recently went with my friend who spent a couple of years teaching in Indonesia and he really enjoyed the authentic food that brought back happy memories! Great attentive service and we left feeling very satisfied! More

I remember when this place was called Krakatoa a while ago. It was very good then and still seems to have kept its charm. I actually didnt like the food I ordered recently, but I appreciated the effort put in, it just wasnt to my taste this time, but I would go again to try something else. The atmosphere is... More

I love Thai and Indonesian food, but I'm always wary that the prices are usually a bit steep for what you get. This place was absolutely spot on - if anything it was cheap for the size of the portions, especially the lamb stew. The rest of the menu looked lovely as well; there wasn't much on there I wouldn't... More

I love eating here, partly because the service is so good and friendly and we're always remembered. The Indonesian food's fresh and lovely quality. They have a two-course lunch special for only £6 and it's a great choice, very filling and tasty - especially the Mi Goreng (wok-fried noodles with chicken, prawns and vegetables) and their sate's really good. I'm... More

We were charmed the minute the wait staff admired our midwestern accents, doesn't happen much. The food was very good, the service adequate. More

We were a group of 8 that visited Warung Tujuh, the restaurant is very small, but the service was very friendly and we all had a great surprise with our different dishes! We all agreed that it would be a memorable evening . More
