Having lived less that 10 miles away have to say wish we had tried The Wheelhouse before. Great Atmosphere in what has to said cramped seating, staff fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly and not trying to upsell. Shellfish just the best, as a locals we know what fresh is and this is fresh! Already booked again
All the reviews are definitely true. Food is excellent: delicious scallops, huge crabs.. and then mussels and shrimps! Sides are available as well. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great. The only problem is the boking time: manage to book 3-4 weeks in advance!
Definitely an unusual and enjoyable dining experience. The service was very pleasant and friendly. The dishes are simple, scallops, prawns, crab, and mussels. The bread is lovely! They don't take credit cards and you will need to book early on Friday and Saturday as there are not many tables in the restaurant. A great place to take friends if you...

Another great meal at the Wheelhouse. I had friends staying who loved seafood so rang and surprisingly got a table for that evening. We had tasty scallops, shell on prawns, delicious mussels in the coconut and chilli sauce and a medium crab. Very messy, tasty and a lovely experience. Wine is very reasonable priced and the concept of such a...

Tina managed to squeeze the wife and I in on a Friday night at 6 pm. We had our habitual fix of a dozen succulent shell on king prawns followed by a medium sized lady brown crab full of tasty roe. Sauces and bread were a point. Go if you love shellfish (book a week or so in advance if...

The Wheelhouse is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Simple menu, and simply done, you can't beat this place. We'll be back every time we go to Cornwall.
While holidaying near Redruth we managed to get a table at The Wheel House following recommendations from family who have visited. It is a must if you enjoy the freshest, tastiest seafood cooked to perfection in a fabulous atmosphere with superb friendly and helpful staff. A fabulous evening which our 4 year old daughter appreciated as much as we did.
We've just returned home from a night in the Wheelhouse for my husbands birthday....I'd read about the Wheelhouse on here and in the press so was excited to go and pleased that it met expectations. It's not fine dining but is great food in laid back environment with uber friendly staff and good wine......what more would you or could you...
