Description: Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor, has held a Michelin star for nineteen years running surely a record outside of London. Under the direction of Executive Chef Simon Radley the exceptional modern British menu changes seasonally and uses only the finest ingredients. The cellar is also renowned, having one thousand bins and a sommelier of prodigious knowledge. The dining room itself is as dashing as you would expect with comfy chairs, oriental carpets, fine woods, original artwork, ebony pillars and many-layered tones of gold and taupe. The service is distinguished by its warmth and professionalism. Top marks.

We were on a pamper weekend and were looking forward to a special meal.mwe both went for the taster menu and I had the wine accompaniment. The ambience is fantastic with the staff being attentive but not over fussy. They are good at gauging how you want your service! Canapés in the bar were quite large: a fabulous smoked salmon... More

My husband arranged a meal here as my birthday treat, and what a treat it was! I feel like I should not say too much so as not to spoil the surprise of all the nice little touches that make this such a special dining experience. I will say though that the service and ambiance was exceptional - posh yes,... More

Almost faultless as usual. Service from multinational crew a credit to all concerned. Just two small points, firstly no Guiness and secondly It does seem so niggardly to ask for payment of £4.50 for car parking after a £120 per head meal.

We ate here on my birthday and it was awesomely good. When the carrots arrived, they came on an enormous silver dish held aloft by a waiter and with two other waiters acting as outriders. Think of the entry of the Queen of Sheba - only with carrots. If that does not impress you, then the bill will certainly bring... More

My wife and I dined for the first time at Simon radley's at the Grosvenor and we found it an enjoyable gastro evening that lasted 3 hours! From the moment we sipped our aperitifs to collecting our coats it was a fabulous evening. The focus is very much on the food which is as you would expect immaculately prepared and... More

I feel quite bad about writing something negative as the food was lovely, it all started off quite brilliantly with freebies in the bar, amazing bread from the fancy bread trolley. We were on the 8 course tasting menu and we were there for 3 hours!! it was far too long, the gap between each course got to nearly 40... More

This is currently my favourite restaurant. We last visited in November 2012 when I was 8 months pregnant. The staff were excellent and could not do enough for us. They recommended specific meals and described which ones could be adapted for me. The food was excellent. The service outstanding. The bread and cheese trollies are an experience in their own...
