Description: Amongst Bristol's premier restaurants, The Muset is a casual yet special setting for occasion dining or a foodie treat in the attractive and moneyed city suburb of Clifton. With its boldly patterned wallpaper, bar style furnishings and retro fixtures and fittings (chrome lamps and 70's-esque clocks), The Muset has a young, laid back atmosphere matched by the 20 and 30 somethings who have quickly made this their favourite haunt. Chef Jethro Lawrence is the man making things happen from behind the scenes here at The Muset and with the help from front of house manager Jonathan Bowker a formidable team is borne. For special occasions, The Muset's Chef's Table is a must, with a private setting and a BYOB policy (reflecting The Muset's history as one of Bristol's first fine dining spots in a time when guests were required to bring their own drinks) and guests can watch the kitchen at work on overhead screens for an added thrill and a glimpse into the restaurant's engine room.

Just had the set lunch menu here for my sons birthday and can confirm will101 review my son and his wife had dined here a few weeks before and had as good a meal. I can only think that thewoodstoday review is bogus as I would say that all the GRIPES are unfounded or unreasonable. This place is certainly worth... More

Went in with a couple of colleagues for the fix-priced lunch deal. 2 courses and a glass of wine for £10.00 (£11.00 really as they add the tip automatically). I had poached trout to start which was fresh, perfectly cooked and tasty, and then had breast of lamb which was also fantastic. The white wine was also very nice for... More

We went for my Dad's birthday. Food looked stunning but didn't really taste of anything, my main was stone cold & everyone else's luke warm at best (but as didn't want to spoil the occasion no one wanted to cause a fuss at the time). Service was also poor - had to repeatedly ask for things we needed such as... More

What an absolute treat. With the first mouthful, my partner and I stopped, looked at each other and just said 'slow down and savour this'. Over 3 hours, chef Jethro's beautifully designed plates kept us staring, exploring, discovering some brilliant flavours, combinations and textures. The new pastry chef served a dream in puddings too. Our waitress was so good, helpful... More

I popped in for lunch with friends last Thursday and was really impressed with the quality of the food offered as the £10 two course deal with a glass of wine. The starter of squid and Chorizo was brilliantly executed and moreish and the main of rolled lamb breast was equally delicious. I also enjoyed the glass of Italian house... More

Went to the new Muset when it first opened a few years ago and was dissappointed, but having read all the rave revues recently I thought I would give it a go. First problem was when we asked for House red and the the wine waitress (couldnt call her a sommelier) said they had 2 house reds - one was... More

I ate lunch at the muset Saturday the 6th of April, me and two other friends, we went for the fixed price (3 courses for £13 plus a glass of wine/beer/coke) and were all very impressed, my starter of poached trout and caper and brown butter was very well balanced, light and well seasoned, my friends shared the squid and... I went to The Muset for a business dinner: the restaurant is very well decorated, looks modern and all the visual details have been taken into account to enjoy a nice meal experience. We ordered the lunch menu, which was very nice, but way too small for my taste. Nevertheless this is the concept of the restaurant, so don't expect... More

I have visited this restaurant 5 times over the last 12 months and I have never had a bad course, the food is always imaginative and excellent in every way.
