Cuisines: French
Dining options: Reservations
Description: With a combination of delicious food, great wines and a real ambience, Café Rouge has embodied the style and je ne sais quoi of French dining since it opened way back in 1989. Now with over 90 sites across the country it's just the place to mull over the morning papers with a cafe au lait and a croissant, pop in for a spot of lunch, share a post-work drink or relax over an evening meal. The menu covers a range of French classics from croques and baguettes, ideal for a quick and easy snack, to more substantial fare such as steak frites and boeuf bourguignon. Likewise, the wines are predominately French; many made by lesser known producers, and provide the perfect accompaniment to the food on offer. No hassle, no rush, no skinny- decaff-double-shot-to-go, just a vibrant atmosphere that moves with your moods throughout the day.

There's an old adage that goes: Q "What's the best restaurant around here?" A "The one where you are best known." I go to the Café Rouge in Cabot Circus on average once every two weeks, with work colleagues, so I'm clearly fairly well known there. The welcome is always warm, the service as fast as the occupancy will permit,... More

Sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed the 2 course set lunch menu, I chose the Pate followed by the herb omelette. Both were of superior quality and the service from the guy serving outside was excellent. More

Having worked in a French brasserie for 2 years I am quite fussy when eating at "French" cafe but Cafe Rouge could not be faulted. Sergio, our waiter was excellent and very professional. Scrambled egg with smoked salmon was excellent, not dry and overcooked. The best Cafe Rouge I have been in. More

My second visit to Cafe Rouge Cabot Circus was November 2011, and my first being I think September 2011. I was satisfied on both visits as I experience excellent service from the staff which created a nice ambience and most importantly the food was good. I choose the set menu on my first visit in September dining as solo. Of... More

We visit Cafe Rouge regularly, and we are never disappointed. Started with Moules and followed with the duck - delicious! Our waiter couldn't have been more attentive and the service was first class as always - keep up the good work Cafe Rouge PS Just a minor negative, we sat on a table for two infront of the doors to... I was here with family on an extremely busy saturday lunch time. Cafe rouge seated 6 of us straight away and the service and attention were amazing. The waitor ( I wish I could remember his name) was so professional and knew exactly what a mum of 3 young kids would want and need. Depite it being so busy, all... More

easy to book a table, service excellent and reasonably priced. I had the twice baked souffle which was delicious although it could have been a little hotter. The salad leaves served with it were fresh and well dressed. More

We went here with 4 children on a Friday night and had a lovely time. Our waitress was excellent - very friendly, considerate of the children's differing needs and really efficient. The food is very simple for the most part but in this branch, we have always enjoyed it. Atmospheric, friendly, with children's colouring packs which also teach French words.... More
