I was dying to try Patisserie Valerie. The cakes look amazing! The gateaux, the macaroons, the tarts... but then we went inside. The ordering system is very confused. You can see all the cake in the window but once they sit you down with a menu, you have no idea what you're ordering. It takes the fun out of it...

For anyone wanting to indulge in the guilty pleasure of delicious cakes (plus tea, coffee, sandwiches and snacks etc), while in the west end of Bristol, you will not find anywhere nicer than Patisserie Valerie.
The cafeteria is not large and you will not be able to purchase a full meal but the food is freshly prepared and absolutely delicious....

The service was very sluggish! It was very hit and miss but we do enjoy their coffee!

The tea was served as leaves rather than a bag and I had 3 cups of Early Grey from one pot. The service was excellent and the selection of gateau and cakes available all looked lovely!

The cafe was very busy however we eventually managed to get a table. We enjoyed an indulgent coffee and cake however it was really too busy and noisy to relax.
