I never fail to have a good meal in this restaurant. I go back time and time again, not just because the service is A1, but the food is quality! The house wine is delicious too, which is a real bonus, considering most house wines are undrinkable! Guaranteed satisfaction awaits you in this splendid restaurant :) More

We arrived tired and hungry at Bristol Temple Meads after a wearisome journey and just wanted to find somewhere to eat near the station. We happened on Don Giovanni's with no particular expectations, and were immediately delighted with the warm, friendly, efficient service. Our main course was grilled local pork with apples and an imaginative and varied selection of veg,... More

I have eaten here for around 25 years or so and the reason for the continued visits over that period is because back 25 years ago the good service and the SECOND TO NONE quality of food has never dropped hence my 25 years of continuing to go back!! I have invited many friends and family to eat here and... More

We visited this establishment last night. I had been there many years before and can see why they remain in business. Simple basic ethics, quality service, lovely menu and great atmosphere. We had a table of four and chose a variety if dishes. All were excellent. Well worth a visit. More

Good traditional fare served by friendly staff who know how to do it properly. Unfortunately, I sat near the door which was a bad idea and I would avoid on a future visit. Drafty!! More

Came here with my husband and children for a celebratory meal and I was blown away with how friendly the staff were, and how very accommodating they were to my dietary needs, which can cause problems in other places. To put it simply...... service was quick and friendly and food hit the spot and there was plenty of it. What... More

This is an outstanding Italian restaurant. I was staying at the Holiday Inn Express, 30 seconds walk away, for a few days and I ate at Don Giovanni's every night. Having lived in Italy for 4 years I can vouch for the authenticity of the the cuisine! Not only was the food really good, the service was also of a... More

I went alone to this restuarant after a long and difficult day, and I spent most of my time on the phone. I was greeted and shown to my table and ordered everything very easily whilst still on the phone. The staff were very good at picking up the signals that I wanted mostly to be left alone, and did... Something very odd about all of these rave reviews. We went there for a simple dinner-a-deux on a Thursday evening. The location looked improbable but we went ahead anyway. It felt like sort of Italianesque transport cafe. The service was inexpert and somewhat indifferent. The meal was based upon meats which seemed to have originated from a discount food store,... More

I was deeply shocked to read your review 17th March 2012. Temple gate has been the 'improbable' home to Don Giovannis for 31 years, testament to us providing consistently good food and service spanning 3 decades. All ingredients used are personally and carefully sourced by myself from local producers and suppliers I trust. Beef and veal is from Clevedon and... More
