We wanted a day out of Whistler and a break from the great skiing. I was becoming tired of the same old stuff in all the restaurants in the village so we drove north to see what we could find.
We stopped in Pemberton and were directed to the pony for breakfast.
the food was good, hot and plenty of...

Staying at Pemberton lodge and this is about 3 minutes away going in to town, restaurant, open early and closing late. Food is top notch, very different than the usual. Had a lovely scrimp salad, with bacon and it comes with a great ceaser salad
French Chef Alexander is a master artist, and his dishes delight and tantalize the palate. When you come, take the time to savor the subtleties and blends of flavors; be prepared to dine in this funky but magical spot north of Whistler in the soon-to-explode, gorgeous Pemberton Valley. On a Friday lunchtime, the only eating choice in Pemberton was Pony Espresso. The day was hot and it was pleasant to be able to eat outside. The menu is appetizing and our food, when it came, was well executed, but not remarkable. Service was friendly and efficient.
I doo not know where the "expresso" comes in. The invoice for lunch show The Pony. Had a great All day Breaky, Monsieur and pint of Lighthouse at 1:30 pm. Lots of locals. Great server Shannon and great prompt service. Total tab $35 plus $6 tip. Great short trip as a break from Whistler. Nice drive with several interesting stops....

The gourmet burger here is to die for!!! We happened upon this place as the parking lot looked busy and it was attached to a cycle shop and looked cute and cozy.
The burger is over the top delicious on a homemade bun with onion jam and roasted tomatoes! And bacon! Trust me this is as good as it gets!...

Wasn't expecting much, but it was amazing. Had the Quebecer's Breakfast - skillet with pan fries, baked beans, cheese curds, peppers, red onions, two poached eggs topped with hollandaise sauce - awesome!
