A pub with rustic charm and some good food - would have liked more mussel options but I took the one offered and it was delicious. Loved the large tables so you got to know whoever you sat beside and we had a great chat with other tourists and locals. If this is not for you then there are other... More

Do not miss this spot: great beer, cider and food. Atmosphere is just great. They do not have a deep fryer, so your meal is free of chips! Turn off your mobile phone or it might join the "phone tree".

A good spot to visit with the family, the boutique beers are great, my personal favourite is the 'Captain Cooker'. Food was okay- nothing to rave about but very adequate. They no longer sell alcohol that can be taken off the premises so if you like one of their main beers you can purchase them in 1 litre plastic bottles... More

We ate (and drank) here in February this year. I'd heard great things about it and we were not dissapointed. I could not believe how busy it was though. So make sure you get there nice an early to get a table. I loved all of the beers, but would have to say the Captain Cooker is my favourite!

This cosy little inn has a lot of character, being a beautiful timber building. We ate here twice on our recent stay in the area, and I highly recommend the mussel chowder, steamed mussels and the rib eye. The home brewed ciders were also very good. The service is fast and efficient, and as I've come to expect everything in... More

Mussel Inn is a unique building, with a great atmosphere, and very well located on Golden Bay. We found it very convenient to our accommodation and there is not much else around without driving into Takaka. I wouldn't bother looking for options in Collingwood. The mussels were a specialty and well worth a try. Other food on the menu was... More

We were staying at a local b and b and were so happy to find this bar as it saved us from long drives at night! We ate one lunch and 3 dinners here. The quality of the food was consistently good. The savory pies, mussels, mussel chowder, nachos, pan fried fish, and open fish burger were all excellent. The... More

We went there on a night when they had a great local musician. It was a lot of fun.
