I have been going to this restaurant since I first found it as a student in the mid 1980s, and made a point of going every single time I have visited Montreal since then. They consistently have the best foundations to their meals (the rice and nan) and masterfully prepared bases to their curries. The service has always been "leisurely",...

Some of the best Indian Food I've experienced - including India. Try the fixed menu meals for 2. Had CC - samosas the best ever!
My husband and I love Indian food. This was a recommendation from a member of our hotel staff. A very small place, but a large menu. There was only one other couple in the restaurant when we were seated, but by the time we left there were a number of people eating.
The food was very good and we really...

This was the worst Indian food experience in all of Montreal. The sag paneer was a dry curry instead of how it's normally served. The spices weren't properly minced and the aroma of all the food was the same. The food was tasteless and bland, lukewarm - and any spiciness to it was more from pepper rather than actual flavouring....

The decor is in dire need of renovations. Carpet and furniture severly worn and dated. No air conditioning does not mix with spicy food. Food is okay but prices a bit steep. As well it took a bit long to get our main dish.
After waiting an hour for the food, it arrived lukewarm and tasteless. A microwaveable frozen entree would have been superior to what was placed before us. Noone came by to check on us or ask "how is everything?" as is the norm. Just as well, the meal was totally disgusting and it would have taken a supreme effort to say...

I took my parents here when they were visiting last week. We were both so excited to share a yummy meal together as we all enjoy Indian food. We were hopeful when we arrived. It seemed like a decent looking place. While waiting nearly an HOUR for the food to arrive, we witnessed Take-Out order after Take-Out orders being taken...

I must disagree with positive reviews of this place. It is generic curry with a few bits added in to make it a korma, vindaloo or whatever was ordered. The saag paneer had no paneer, just saag with no flavour. You could throw a jar of Patak’s into a saucepan and eat better south asain food.
I've always been puzzled by the fact that Le Taj frequently gets better/more reviews than Asha--it's possibly due to the locations (Le Taj is very centrally located). The food in my opinion is much better at Asha's, and better priced. Appetizers (the shrimp praya) are well portioned for 2-3 people, and going with a group means you get to taste...
