I ate lunch at the commensal. It was surprised by the large selection of dish offered. There were a few soups, many types of salads, vegetables platters, fruits and many desserts to choose from. I had a tasty and healthy lunch and a good expresso (prepared by myself) to finish my meal. I had no meat and did not miss... More

When Le Commensal announced it was adding meat and seafood to its offerings, its core and faithful clients were stunned and dismayed. Le Commensal has been the steadfast go to place for good, reasonable vegetarian food in Montreal for as long as I can remember. I thought of boycotting, but then decided to give the new menu a try -... More

Several downtown Montreal locations (St-Denis between Ontario and de Maisonneuve streets and also near McGill College avenue and Sainte-CAtherine. Primarily vegetarian fare, pay by the weight lots of good soups, salads, i enjoy seitan and tofu. Recently added some non-veg dishes to controversy so may have revoked the latter... Remains an oasis in the midst of the city and allows... More

This used to be a great vegetarian restaurant with a full buffet of healthy choices, many organic. Based on my last visit, the quality has slipped a lot. The offerings were sloppy and poorly presented and the quality of the food seemed low. Nothing was presented as organic. Price is reasonable but for what you get, it's not up to... More

Says it all- they have lots of nice veggie food and I always leave happy. I wish more people wanted to go with me! Its a bit pricy but you can use a student discount! Kid friendly - not handicap friendly.

I am not a vegeterian but I expected this restaurant to be good because it is a vegeterian restaurant. I've tried the buffet and thought the food was terrible. The ambiance was okay... but I won't go back.

This was recommended to me by the natives and is very close to McGill University campus. It is located on an upper floor of its building, so be prepared to go up stairs or take the elevator to find it. The selection was wonderful, though, typical of a good vegetarian restaurant. All entrees were labeled as vegan, gluten-free, and the... More

A high quality vegetarian buffet chain which features both original prepared salads (my two favorite are a simple spinach/strawberry/almond green salad, and a more complex salad involving Israeli couscous and edamame beans) and a DIY salad bar. There is also a nice range of hot meals, which including something for every one. And then the desserts... which include gluten-free options... More

This is my go-to place when I fill like meat-free meals. It's basically a buffet (including dessert which are generally very good), but with no meat product in sight. You take what you like, and then weigh your order at the cash. There is a maximum charge of (I believe) C$14.75, so if you're a big eater, it's definitely worth... More

I'm not sure if it is fair to review a restaurant where we ate a few years ago, but the fact that we still remember it as being one of the best dining experiences we had during our visit to Montreal does say something. We were truly overwhelmed by the many choices -- all gorgeously presented -- and we had... More
