It was nostalgic to revisit a pub I once considered my second home over 25 years ago. What made it special then continues to make it so today: Great beer and great music. I still have the CD that I bought from a band that was visiting from Ireland back in early 90s playing traditional Irish tunes along with a... More

McVeigh's is a great place to have a pint and a hot or cold lunch. Such a gret departure from the ultra modern high priced Toronto establishments. Nothing beats the chalkboard menu. Better order fast before you choice is gone. The beer is always cold and the service vey friendly. It is a prefect spot if you need a quick... More

I've been going to McVeigh's for years. It's one of the few family run pubs in the city. This is really an old school pub. If you're looking for fancy don't step in the place. Don't ask for coffee... It's not available. I like the real of the place. Real people and real food. Cheers to all my friends at... More

Great place to watch football while celebrating American Thanksgiving in Toronto. Amazing selection of pub food not often found in such environs. Mandatory, Guinness, Murphy's and Jamesons. Try the Poutine along with your Lipitor. Marky the horse (Calgary Stampede mascot for the Grey Cup Stampeders) even visited and was given a bowl of Stout for his troubles ...and he drank... More

Very Irish feel to the restaurant and as expected to soccer match was on. The Guiness was nice and clean just like I remember from Dublin. Would visit again.

Stopped by while traveling on business, it was a few blocks from the hotel and I had recently been to Dublin so thought I'd try the Canadian version. Guiness was expertly poured and tasty, and the fish and chips were OK. I'd definitely return for a solo dinner or just a pint - the staff was very friendly and the... More

Have you seen the Boondock Saints? Remember the pub scenes? They were shot at McVeighs. Having recently celebrated it 50th anniversary, McVeigh's is the original Irish pub in Toronto. People have an image of Toronto that is multicultural and tolerant. They do not realise that Toronto was almost as sectarian as Ireland itself back in the 1960s. Talk to Jimmy... More

I've only ever been to have a pint, but it has a real irish feel. Great irish music. The walk to the bathrooms is upstairs and too long!

Live Celtic Music, Great Irish Stew, Excellent Pints of various brews. Service was a little vapid and slow.
