Soup and salads were very good. Main courses were cold. Nobody came back to check on our meals and even though restaurant was very quiet the serving staff disappeared and we were not able to get anybody's attention. The chef seems to have a love for all things bacon or sausage - in the mashed potatoes, the soup and even... More

The food was average. The service was average. Ok if you're in the area, but really nothing special.

I went to the Oro Restaurant in Toronto with a few work colleagues and had some finger foods. The place is located down-town near The Atrium On Bay, and is close to the subway (Yonge station). The food wasn't spectacular. I wasn't paying, so I'm not sure how well priced the restaurant was. The service was average. I would probably... More

I went to Oro's for New Year's eve with my wife and 3 other couples. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was excellent. The prix fixe consisted of several appetizer and main course choices, with a pasta dish in the middle, all followed by a choice of great desserts. I started with a baby shrimp stew of some sort... Early Nov for a business dinner. 8 people. We arrived at 6 pm or a little after and did not have our main course until 9 pm. Service was so slow and in that entire time not a single word or utterance from the wait staff, nada. At one point, I had to raise my hands in the air in... More

We are a couple in our late 40's. We dined here Sat, Oct 1st. I had called ahead, and reserved a nice spot in the front room, near the fireplace. This location on Elm Street was a short stroll from our hotel at the Marriott Eaton Centre. I had researched a few places prior to going to TO...this one is... More

The food was okay- gnocchi not very good, chicken very good. It's hard to see how they can justify the prices-$16 for a small glass of average Australian white, $35 for a chicken breast. The service was very good, however.

I ate here with colleagues in the private room in the back and ordered from a fixed menu, so I know my experience was not typical of most diners at Oro. But the food still comes out of the same kitchen, and the waiters are the same. I could have been happy simply eating the appetizers they presented, they were... More

Our group of 8 arrived for a late dinner (9:00 p.m.) with a last-minute reservation. The food, service, decor and wine list were nothing short of excellent. The menu is an eclectic Italian-oriented mixture. Our group ordered seven different main courses and every one was a hit. I can personally vouch for the grilled Bison ribeye, and the lamb tenderloin:... More

Beautiful atmosphere and amazing service, friendly staff very informed on foods and wines to accompany, my date had the Strozzapretti Puttanesca and it was to die for! Ingredients are fresh and cooked to perfection. Speaking of cooked to perfection I enjoyed the Bison Ribeye with the recommended Grayson Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, California Wine and it was a match made... More
