This place rocks, and the bill (including a 1/2 litre wine) was very reasonable. My family loves this place, with authentic Italian waiters serving you. Can't wait to go back!

A great restaurant on Royal york. The food is fantastic and the service is impeccable. Great place to take guest from out of town, dinner with a spouse or even anniversary parties.
We visited La Veranda for my grandmother’s 81st Birthday at the end of January. I had picked the location for our group of 20 after I had visited the restaurant for a work function the summer before and thought that we could try it out again.
We worked with the $18.00 Sunday lunch menu which included garlic bread, an appetizer,...

I can't speak positively about anything regarding this restaurant - except, perhaps, the somewhat pleasant waiter. The decor, the menu, the "rules", and the prices -- all cause for staying away.
The decor: the restaurant can't decide what it's all about. There's a general trattoria feel - but is it high end? Roadhouse? An artificial fireplace on one wall and...

Service was fawning to the point of overbearing. Who really needs to be attended to by four or more different service staff? Ambience is nice, but guys, proofread your menu -- it was full of howlers! For all the airs this place puts on, the food is hardly more than average.
First off, I'm not a restaurant snob.
My experience: Ordered the veal marsala. Asked if the veal was milk or grain fed. Server had no idea whatsover, nor attempted to ask anyone else this question. Received some slab of meat covered in a thick brown gravy that could have been out of a can.
Had a salad for appetizer. I...

We went to this restaurant for lunch and found it to be a nice place to eat and chat with friends . The food is standard- Italian. We picked meals from the lunch special and found the prices to be reasonable and the helpings good-sized. Service was friendly and competent. Nice neighborhood place with a little outside patio!
Have been here a couple of times, and would definitely go back. Food is predictable, and the menu is extensive. The place is crowded and has a lovely warm buzz happening on weekends and peak nights.
If you want to have the worst meal of your life, go to La Veranda Osteria on Royal York Rd.
I visited this Italian restaurant in Etobicoke in September 2011.
We ordered 3 pasta dishes.
The First two dishes were blander than bland could be, drenched in oil and the chicken was drier than cardboard. We did not want to...
