Description: The arrival of Vincent Leung as head of the kitchen marks a new phase in the development of Senses’ cuisine. Chef Leung has long leveraged his ethnic Chinese heritage and classical French culinary training to create food best known for its East-meets-West signature style. However, his new Senses menu, which took a year to develop, promises more. The new cuisine at Senses goes beyond the mere interweaving of Asian ingredients and flavours in Western dishes. It is an exploration of how traditional Asian food preparation and cooking techniques may be introduced to complement classically Western food and dishes. Some of the protocols and disciplines showcased in this menu are either unknown or never attempted in the western kitchen.

We enjoyed the $69 prix fixe four course dinner for two through WagJag. The entire meal was excellent and beautifully presented. The salads and soups wer flavourful and generous portions. My salmon was cooked perfectly with a crispy skin on top. Dessert was divine and the wine selection was good. Another restaurant to add to our revisit list.

We checked into the Soho Metropolitan Hotel and ate dinner our first evening at the restaurant in the hotel-- Senses. The food and service was excellent. A bit pricely, but the price was reasonable given the overall quality.

Right in the soho metropolitan hotel. Apps, mains and desert were all delicious. Wine was reasonably priced

Focused on an appeal to the senses, Senses restaurant does just that. A concern for taste, smell, sight, touch and ambiance are present at this restaurant tucked into the main floor of the Soho hotel on Wellington , downtown Toronto. Previously Senses was located on Bloor Street where their excellent reputation was first established as one of Toronto's outstanding dining... More

I had dinner at Senses a year ago and it was very good. What a different experience this time. As another reviewer noted, the food was "alright" at best. The service was "middle-of-the-road", but the food was a huge disappointment. Entrees were overcooked and should have been sent back (our mistake). A vodka and soda for $ 14.00? Outrageous Definitely... More

Our first time at Senses. We arrived early as we were going to a show at 8:00 PM. The restaurant was not quite ready when we arrived so we were invited to go to the bar for a drink. Sat at the bar and ordered wine....my husband, white and me, red.....both served in a same size small wine glass!!! We... More

We stayed at the Soho Met which is linked to the restaurant. When we first arrived we grabbed lunch from the Senses restaurant. Both of our meals were excellent and we also ordered room service from them which was also really good!

We ate here during the Toronto film festival and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, food quality & service but most of all the dessert was what made this meal memorable - 4 kinds of Crème brûlée (vanilla, ginger, mocha and chocolate) in small individual servings. Delicious!

We stayed at Soho Metropolitan Hotel and decided to have dinner in the Senses Restaraunt. It was an excellent dinner. Scallops for an appetizer to Beef Tenderloin and a honey lemon salad. Excellent tastes and decorated tastefully. I would recommend this restaraunt to others.

I used to love Senses and was coming back for many of my various celebration. I love the French cooking from Patrick Lin. This time, the food and experience is totally disappointing after Patrick left This year, the Summerlicious food is uninspiring: food combination is like some family restaurant. Fish was salty. food arrangement was "bulky". I can't even bear... More
