We had a table in the centre of the restaurant for our group. It's pretty good, but I prefer the somewhat secluded table around the wine room. This is the Mercatto on Bay Street. I dined alone on a windy, rainy Friday night after shopping at the Eaton's Centre. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. Mercatto is perfect for a mid-range Italian place. We had excellent pizzas--thin crispy crust, loaded with succulent toppings. The past is good. The salami and cheeses are classics.
