a must to go to if good food is on your list ........the salad bar is great ....on sight famous made buns , garlic butter .....only problem is once you eat the buns and salad too full to eat your meal so take out it is .........it is pricey

Everyone that comes to our house for a visit, gets taken there. It's central, best beef (locally grown) but my fav. is the sea food, they have a liquor lic. as well.

The salad bar has gone a bit down hill, canned corn etc..but the food was sitll good

Not cheap but not overpriced; food is the best and those homemade buns make it hard to keep room for the main dish. The prospector is a place that must be visited just to try out the salad bar! It is AMAZING! Forget the renowned steaks and head for the veggies. I know that typically "you don't make friends with salad" but this is definitely the exception! Make sure you try at least one or two of their famous buns!!! YUM!

I love salad so I go here often as they have a nice salad bar, soups, and fresh homemade buns! Apparently they make an excellent steak too.

Always have a great piece of beef at the Prospector. Friend of the owners cut prime rib roast is the best. Soup and salad bar are great and the worlds best buns. Service is always speedt and the prices are reasonable. When birthdays roll around, my family always chooses the Prospector for get together.

If you are looking for good prime rib and THE BEST (so serious) homemade buns, then come here. We go out of our way to come to this restaurant during our visits to Thunder Bay! We have never been let down. Great service and impeccable food!
