The fish was really good, but the breading wasn't; batter would be better. The fish chowder was delicious; would be better with light cream instead of milk. The hand-cut fries were also great and the price was very good; $7. for a small order and $10. For a large order. Start using batter and you'll have a winner.

Visited Phil's for the first time in a couple of years where I recently moved back to Dartmouth. The fish & chips are possibly the best in the HRM area where the fish is fresh and lightly battered complimented with home cut french fries and coleslaw. Service was very friendly and efficient and the prices are very reasonable. Will return... More

I got the half order seafood platter which was plenty of food including salad 4 scallops 4 shrimp and a big peice of haddock. The service was very... More

Seafood is always fresh and the Fries are great. The fish batter is a fairly thin one which i really like as i find most battered fish to have a thick doughy texture. Love this fish

Well I should have know by the smell when I walked in... And unfortunately it was not a fishy smell but more of a restroom. The only reason I continued was that it was quite busy. The meal was ok at best. The coleslaw was horrible. Only good thing was the price and a very nice server.

We stopped at Phils for Fish and Chips. The fish was fantastic., fresh and juicy. The fries would have been great had they been hot. The coleslaw was alright I dont like mine grated but it did have a nice hint of garlic in it. The tartar sauce, always the sign of a great fish place was awful tasted like... More

Agree that the "chips" leave something to be desired, but the fish is delicious and fresh, the mussels are around $5 for 1 pound and are superb. The seafood chowder is also really tasty.
