The surrounding restaurants were all very busy but Le Bistro was half empty, which did not bode well but the menu looked interesting and we were too tired to wait for a table elsewhere so ended up here. The food was excellent, the waitress charming and there was 30% off wine that night, what's not to love?

We often head to this little Westend gem for weekday lunches. The food is always a hit, complete with the standards that one expects like Croque Monsieur, French Onion Soup, Beef Tartar, Escargots, and Steak Frites done to perfection. The service is friendly, fast, and knows their food. John Blakely, also the owner of Bistro Pastis, has transformed this restaurant... More

le Parisien, the new name of this restaurant is excellent. We enjoyed dinner on Friday night. Husband ate off the dine out menu with crispy calamari, steak frites, apple crepe. I had the onion soup and the beef Bourgignon. All dishes were outstanding. Service impeccable. Absolutely loved it and will be back soon

Our special dinner at Le Parisien was wonderful. Under new management, the restaurant looks a bit more formal inside and the menu reflects this by having more traditional French dishes. We started off with appetizers of duck terrine and escargot. Both were tasty and flavourful with a generous slab of terrine. For mains we had the cassoulet for two and... More

We have been eating at this Bistro since the 70's under various owners and names (Cafe de Paris and, latterly, Bistro de Paris). Over the years, some visits were great, some mediocre and some unacceptable. Glad to say this new incarnation is a hit. Nice, clean update of the decor, a pared down and inventive menu, super talented kitchen and... More

Decided to dine at this restaurant with family and the whole night turned out to be a great time. Had a great time with our family as well the food we experienced was just amazing. The special that night was Boneless Beef Shortrib with roquefort cheese crust...OMG, amazing. Two of us had this and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Someone also... More

Hadn't been to this restaurant since the late1970's when we would come into town from West Van with a French friend for the heavier Bistro fare. Now downtown empty nesters surrounded by new restaurants, we noticed it listed in Dine Out Vancouver, and went. The dine out menu didn't appeal, so I ordered the Salade Nicoise, and my husband the... This used to be a place where we could find the taste of Paris we longed for. The frites (French fries) were - and still are - delicious. But something is different. I don't miss the haughty French (and French Canadian) waiters, and the ubiquitous Edith Piaff music is still there (why oh why must we be punished with endless... More

Had Dine Out menu at le Bistro de Paris recently. The service was very good and the atmosphere was fine. The food was okay but not great. Prices were fine for Dine Out but would be overpriced otherwise.

Came here with my husband for Dine out Vancouver 2012. Ambiance is cozy and service is great, but food is a big disappointment. Clam chowder is great with big chunks of salmon. I picked the Halibut dish for the main course and the fish is a bit dry and too much spice overpowering the halibut itself. I was looking forward... More
