Fantastic food -- maybe the best I've had during my short stay in Vancouver! For starters, since I was in Canada, I HAD to try poutin. I split the vegan poutin, and liked it. It was interesting (different than the chili cheese fries of the U.S.) but tasty nonetheless. Really, the main course was the tastiest part though. The Vegan... More

This weekend was shaping up to be one of indecision. We knew that we needed brunch, but where? Wandering about near our favourite haunts, we came across the charming Wallflower. The decor of the Wallflower is simple and fun. Tables made of plywood, a cove ceiling, and a hand-painted wall (of flowers, naturally!) contribute to the comfy atmosphere. After our... More

The service was good, considering how busy it was. Atmosphere was really cool, feels a bit like a closed society as with many hip hole-in-the-wall places in van, but pleasant nonetheless. Food was cool, a lot of creative menu items and really homestyle/diner tasting. Nice night

This space reminded me of the little rooms on College Street in Toronto. Long and narrow, with a big bar to the left and a Pac Man machine in the back. Our mission: brunch. We got a tall table top with two bar stools for our table. Caesars were $4, a good deal. I had the tomato and spinach benny... More

This restaurant will please every person you take there. Selections that appease meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans, gluten free and probably many more I'm not even aware of! It is diner style seating, so it's a bit close quarters, but think about it - if it wasn't we'd be waiting in line due to a shortage of seating...thankfully not the case,... More

Ok so I ordered meatloaf in a restaurant, my mistake. But "meatloaf Benny" sounded good. There was so much vinegar in the hollandaise it was barely edible. I would of sent it back if we hadn't already waited 1.5 hours to get it. I was never asked how it was either or really given an opportunity to mention it.

This is a typical noisy diner with a good range of beers and a really good menu, especially for vegans/gluten free. The vegan food we had was exceptionally good and quickly delivered. Like most Canadian eateries, booze is expensive but that aside this is excellent value for money. Great (and smiley) service for the lone server - she did well.... More

The lone server did well considering everyone was eating on a holiday afternoon. Food was well priced and large portions.

This place is better for a jug of beer with friends generally. Some of the food is great (like the starters) - fresh and innovative. Sometimes the food isn't so great - like the pierogies which were stodgy. But it's always busy and there is a great atmosphere.

We dined at the Wallflower recently for the first time. It was amazing for me to have so many gluten free options. I had the vegan Shepards pie and my friend had the vegan meatloaf, which we shared and they were both very good. I can hardly wait to go back and try them again. My husband had the salmon... More
