Such unfriendly service cost this restaurant a star on this review. We didn't feel in the slightest bit welcomed and at no stage were we asked whether we were (or had) enjoying (enjoyed) our meal. This was a shame really as the food was four star. It would have been five but the black lentil Dahl we had was tasty... More

had dinner here during our vancover stopover. conveniently located downtown near the Hyatt, where we were staying. Ambience is quite nice. The food was very good and tasty. Service was very good as well. we had several vegetarian dishes and they were all better then our expectations. Overall a very good indian restaurant thats also reasonably priced. Definitely a repeat

1st time patron at this restaurant. Wanted to find an Indian restaurant rather than the usual one that I go to. Read the reviews on tripadvisor. Was full of hope. But made a mistake outright for going with the lunch buffet. Just blend overly salty food. Lamb and chicken are both dry. Unsophisticated veggie dishes. Probably just to cater for... More

Not an obvious walk in as it an elevator ride to the second floor. Turn one way, a Chinese restaurant, turn other, Salam Bombay. First impressions, it was like any other restaurant, table cloths and cloth napkins but when escorted to our table we we most pleased as we then saw that 2 sides of the entire restaurant were glass... The Salam Bombay restaurant is classy and had the best ambiance around. The dish was executed perfectly, which each of the bright colors of the ingredients peeking through the thin rice paper. I did find it a bit too sweet for my liking, but I know a lot of people who would be willing to pay top dollar for a... More

I recommend eating here for a few reasons. 1) The food was good (especially the biryani) 2) the service was excellent 3) prices were reasonable and 4) people watching from the second floor, looking down onto burrard street, was great! Service was very attentive, refilling water glasses whenever they were half-full.

I love to go in an Indian restaurant where Indians go with their families. This is a place like that. Service is friendly yet discrete, food is greatat decent prices. The wine menu is extensive but they are overpriced (nobody was drinking it I noticed). They should perhaps work on the lighting in the place as this is what ia... More
