This is the best deal we've found in Playa. The grilled grouper is 90 pesos and very good. The restaurant is on the beach, which is beautiful. The restaurant itself doesn't offer much atmosphere.

Our group of six recently had dinner here and I cannot recommend it. Most of the group thought their meals were okay but I was not happy with my 'catch of the day' it tasted more like the catch of a few days before. If you plan to go to Playa del Carmen, it's a great choice to eat something tasty, cheap and local. Everything is great, in front of the beach, fresh fish and tasty ceviche. You can eat a hole piece of fresh made fish for 200 pesos. Highly recommended from somebody who goes to Cancun 4 times every year.

The place is huge and on the main avenue so you can expect a lot of guests but that was fine if you get a table not that close to the stairs. It's openaired so you could see the avenue and all the people and here the Mariachis play.

Loved it the food was great Mexican food went there for lunch, we had the garlic shrimp, chicken, and fish tacos. And a few margaritas, Others around us had the fresh fish which looked great. Heard it was the oldest restaurant in playa. We will be back there.

We wanted to eat right on the beach in Playa, and walked past a number of bar type places with loud music before coming to La Terraya. They have plastic tables and chairs set up on the sand and also inside the restaurant. My son and I split a platter of grouper and calamari; the grouper in a Veracruz (tomato,... More
