La Pigua is located in the Historic District of Campeche near Plaza Campeche Motel. La Pigua is considered by many to be the best restaurant in Campeche. Excellent food, great atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff.

We lunched at La Pigua during the week - arrived at 1:30 and by 2:00 every table was full with local businessmen. Understand restaurant opens some evenings for the tourist trade since most Mexicans have their main meal after noon. Beautiful dining room with glass on two sides. Service was excellent and anticipatory - old school waiters. One of us... More

The atmosphere is fairly sterile, and the waiters indifferent. The food was below average. We had fish with garlic (al modo de ajo) as well as the octopus and the garlic was not cooked, so we spent the next two hours trying to get the taste out of our mouth. Would not recommend this restaurant.

Without doubt this was the best experience of any restaurant we visited during our 3 week holiday to Mexico. Although it comes in the ‘fine dining’ category, it is surprisingly inexpensive. We both has fish fillet with a green tomato sauce which was superbly prepared and presented and the cost of each meal was around about around £7 each. There... More

There are many fine restaurants in Campeche, but La Pigua stands out. The atmosphere is very nice, the wait staff very professional, and the food...WOW! We had the best coconut prawns I have ever eaten along with an octopus in a dark delicious sauce. This was washed down with a chenin blanc from Baja California. Delicious! You need a taxi... More

After a long morning of trekking the Edzna ruins, we stopped here for lunch. Even though we had a group of 18 and didn’t call ahead, they happily rearranged the dinning room quickly to accommodate us. When we asked locals what was the best restaurant in Campeche, Pigua was often at the top of the list. I think they may... More

We had been looking forward to a meal here since we visited a year ago. We were not disappointed. The restaurant offers several choices, not all seafood but I think that's what they do best. On this visit, I had the fish filet in green sauce, yum, and my husband had the grilled pompano, also yum. We started off with... More

The food is outstanding and the service impeccable at this restaurant just outside the city wall. The seafood is fresh and mixed with wonderful flavors and presented beautifully. Prices were very reasonable. Decent wine list.

Modern building, clean. After being seated, had to wait 15 minutes for service. Restaurant half empty, and there seemed to be one waiter per table, so there was really no excuse for ignoring customers. Food arrived with two waiters, who were more interested in carrying on their own conversation that interacting with us. The fish was very good, the bread... More
