In the trendy Polanco district of Mexico City, you'll find what has to be one of the better restaurants in the area. For the foreigners, step outside of your comfort zone, and don't be afraid to try the waiter's suggestions. This night I had the Ensalada Nopalitos, which was a great find. I never thought grilled cheese would go well... More

This is a chain of restaurants that specialise in food from Southeastern Mexico. An extensive menu of tamales, cochinita, several kinds of mole and more exotic choices. Fairly priced, on average about $100-$150 pesos for a main, not bad at all. It also serves a good sellection of traditional sweets, not to miss natilla. I would say that breakfast is... More

Tries to be high-class mexican cuisine, but in fact is just chain food of low quality. Not worth the price.

I had breakfast this morning in el Bajilo in Polanco and was very impressed with the service. It's a great location almost right in front of the Marriot in Polanco. Great food and good prices. It has an enclosed section just for smokers which made my friend very happy.

I hope you know by now what "Bueno" means. This restaurant is not only "Bueno", not even "Muy Bueno". It deserves a double MUY MUY BUENO rating, and this means its a special place. The food, real mexican food from all over the country is served with all the right condiments and with outstanding service. I have been both at... More

Try the concha, which is a sweet bread of sorts with a sugary cap. This with a coffee made with raw sugar cane is divine. Good local crowd for a energetic ambiance.

This was the only restaurant visited twice during our one week stay in DF. It offers traditional Mexican food (and I do not mean American interpretations) in an appealing setting with outstanding service. Each dish was a treat and the staff was very attentive. When our limited Spanish was turnnig into an impediment, our waitor quickly dispatched a bilingual colleague... More

it's more a place to be seen than to eat. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and has the advantage of being open from breakfast onwards (most other Mexican restaurants only open at 1pm or 130pm for lunch). However, food is average. For Mexican food in a restaurant, I'd prefer La Valentina along Masaryk. Avoid Villa Maria as well.
