High level, serious japanese cuisine. The food is very good, the waitress recommended a sampler of their best dishes, which was really good. Service is kind and attentive. Ask for a table by the Zen garden. The restaurant is located in the Lobby of the Hyatt in Polanco, Mexico City.

We decided to try the hotel restaurant and settled at Benkay. The menu was not large - but contained a great selection of noodle dishes, sushi, bento boxes, and desserts. They also have a great outdoor rock-garden courtyard with dining tables.

Given its location, ambiance, and quality of food, this is the place to get Japanese food, even if it is quite pricey. They do have some set meals, which are reasonably priced and fill you up. Otherwise, their ala carte servings are generous as well. What we enjoy here is the freshness of the food, and 95% authenticity.

Hands down the best Japanese fare in Mexico (yes, it is expensive). No longer the Nikko hotel, it is now the Hyatt Regency, but the restaurant is still the Benkay and the menu hasn't changed (which is a good thing).

I have been eating at several restaurants and hotel Nikko and find them all very good. However the sushi restaurant is the best I've tried so far and would recommend it for everybody!

My wife and I went to Benkay for her birthday and to be honest, I was not blown away. The food was good, but not great. I had one of the menu items where you got an appetizer, soup, grilled dish, etc. and it was good. My wife got the sushi sampler, and it was just ok. The best thing... More

This is an excellent place. The service is fantastic. We had two waiters for the two of us! The food was incredible. Try the miso soup. Delicious!

This restaurant in the Hotel Nikko in Polanco was highly recommended by the concierge and another friend. It is Japanese with a very complex menu that is poorly translated into English. The wait staff could not explain the various options adequately. The sushi selections were per piece and very expensive. We sat in the dining room at 6:30 pm and... More
