Don't know to much about Cabrito their main dish in Monterrey but for my taste it was too greasy with no flavor n very very expensive for my wallet, at 150.00 dollars per Cabrito. The people or service it was excellent.

If you like goat or want to try it, this is the place. I prefer the plato mixto so that you get various cuts and some beef steak too.

The Gran Pastor is one of the most famous and visited restaurants at Monterrey, they have an excellent service and traditional meal like snacks (mollejas, machitos, chicharrón de rib eye, queso flameado, etc), fresh salads, steak and cabrito... but if you want to pairing this delicious food with wine, the options are limited, i believe that they should put special... My fiance and I were in Mexico recently for a wedding and we do not speak Spanish at all (although I can recognize some words). We were recommended to this restaurant by the bride. We ordered the Filete Abrieto (sp?) and it was a melt in your mouth huge piece of steak. The meal came with salad bar, refried beans,... More

I was asked to meet here for lunch. And I was very satisfied by the experience. After a warm day in MTY I asked for a beer while waiting. Bohemia. As I finished this quiet soon after getting it, the waiter was quick to provide an other without me asking for it. Made me like the place. Lots and lots... More

El Gran Pastor is a traditional restaurant in Monterrey, Mexico frequented by locals and their guests, where you will find business people and families alike enjoying what in my opinion is the best cabrito in town. You may be asking yourself, what is cabrito? Cabrito is kid-goat which along with machacado or eggs and dried beef share the culinary pantheon... More

El Gran pastor is an excellent place to experience slow-cooked goat. The food is wonderful, the service excellent and the atmosphere is truly the typical family-style of Mexico. choose the plato mixto to sample the various cuts of goat and beef.
