We only ate lunch there once, and it was good. Fried chicken like your mother used to make. And nice sides. Open air right on the Caribbean. No idea what the rooms are like, but it is right beside the Sea, and I gather the cheapest that you can get for that spot.

The Golden Era is in a perfect spot. From the terrace you have an oulook on the sea albeit with oil tankers on the horizon. The menu was basic: Statia is not a culinary delight. For dinner I had the snapper with pepper sauce. Very nice spicy season on the grilled fish. For lunch, perhaps the best crab sandwich that I have ever had. Very nice and friendly local folks made for very pleasant meals.
