We arrived at Caneel Bay Resort in mid afternoon so lunch was in order and we went over to the bar and grill. My son in law had an enormous burger which he said was very good, daughter had a shrimp salad..also very good, wife had the carrot and garlic soup and raved about it, and I had a Scott... More

My wife and I had lunch today at Caneel Bay. The food was excellent, but the service was from from what you would expect at a five star resort. I asked a staff member if a restaurant was open. Her response to me was "Does it look like it is open?". A simple yes or no without the sarcasm would... More

It was good but some of the appetizers were half a**ed, like the nachos. Seafood was great, buffalo wings were great with local hot sauces. This was bar food not the fine dining but there were still some very surprisingly good options.

This is our 16th year on St. John. Caneel Bay is a wonderful resort with spectacular beaches and excellent facilities. The food is not their strongest point. The Grill serves fine fare in a family friendly setting. The service is pleasant and anxious to please – even though not necessarily speedy. The food, the usual array of salads, sandwiches, and... This was my least favorite meal on St. John. After hiking the Reef Bay Trail, we changed and went to grab some lunch here and planned to hang out at the beach after. We were SO thankful we booked our trip at the Westin. We did not like the feel of Caneel bay at all. It looked dated and boring!... More

My Husband and I were staying in a villa at the Westin and went to Caneel Bay to visit and have breakfast there. Prior to our trip, I had strongly considered booking a night a Caneel Bay since the villa at the Westin was only available for 3 nights and we'd be in St. John for 4 nights. We headed... More

We weren't hotel guests but hit the outdoor patio bar/restaurant. Food and drinks were a bit pricey but were excellent as a respite in the middle of a nice Lind Point / Caneel Bay trail hike. The chef's tuna wrap was awesome and the Mango Dream drink was incredible. Also - don't miss trying the Caneel Bay Caribee Hot Sauce... More

Beautiful area and good service. Their Bushwacker was the best I EVER had! My wrap was good, but expensive. It's a nice alternative if you feel like a nicer lunch. There were people here who complained about the $10 charge for parking for non-guests, but if you eat lunch, just get your ticket validated at the front desk and there... More

Second restaurant is closed this week. Primary lunch restaurant was "ordered closed to non-guests" yesterday. As we left, the hostess told us that it was not her decision. she said "the manager decided that the kitchen could not cook fast enough and non-guests are not allowed to order - not from a table, not from the bar, not from the... We really enjoyed the beach bar and grill at Caneel Bay. An earlier review said the crab cakes were blah but my wife orders crab cakes wherever she goes and is very hard to please. Whatever was wrong in an earlier post has been corrected because she loved everything about the crab cake - big chunks of meat, about 3-4... More
