Ive listed it as terrible because it has once again closed and is for sale. The new owners didn't even make it a year - they started out on a rocky path when they threw out funky memorabilia folks had donated over the years. Shooting roosters and chickens put some people off. My concerns were the long wait just to... More

Really great food but having staffing issues right now and closed almost all the time. Don't drive all the way out to coral bay until they get that worked out. Husband got jalapeño and ricotta omelet which he has barely stopped talking about. I got the ricotta blueberry pancakes. Moist and yummy.

We stopped for breakfast sandwiches on the way to Hansen Bay. Really good with local hot sauce sprinkled on. If you're on a budget, get your breakfast sandwich on toast instead of a bagel- saves a couple bucks. Have a juice instead of a Mimosa or Bloody Mary- saves a couple dollars. Or live it up! It's only money, right?

The food was very good as in pervious years. We eat outside and were treated exceptionally well by the new staff. We didn't think the staff was as friendly in past years. Noticed some minor changes on the menu but other than that, this is still the same Donkey Diner that we remember. Would like to see wifi here as... More

Came here in July 2012 and the food was great!! Back again May 1st, and had to go back. The breakfast is excellent. A lot of food on the plate. The service was friendly. Love this place for the atsmosphere. Food is tasty, albeit a little pricey, but nothing out of the ordinary for the island. Will be back!

We stayed in Coral Bay April 10-21 and our villa was just above Donkey Diner. At the beginning of our trip we usually just ate breakfast in our villa then headed out for the day. Later in our trip we decided we should try the Donkey Diner (even though I had been reading very mixed reviews for the past year!).... More

Have loved Donkey Diner in the past and believe that it is under new ownership. He seems to be struggling. This is a review of food not eaten. We stopped by on pizza night and made an order for pick up in an hour or so after we returned from our beach outing. Upon our timely return, the restaurant was... More

I always loved this place for breakfast. On arrival into Coral Bay, i heard mixed reviews, but wanted to give this old favorite a fair chance, and had brunch there last week. Fear not: the egg dishes are still delicious! In fact, the Greek omelet was the BEST I've had everm there or anywhere. The homefries were perfect! Coffee was... More

A great place to grab breakfast before you head off to the beach. They have some outdoor seating and inside is usually pretty cool. The food is good. Service is good. Prices are very reasonable and they make a decent pizza! I know they had a management/owner change - and you can notice a difference. Owners may come and go... More

So I had been to St John before, but didn't go to the Donkey Diner. I was hesitant about ordering the ricotta pancakes because being a pancake snob, I didn't feel like trying anything different. Man...my pancakes were great! My husband had the breakfast burrito which was very tasty as well. Be sure to pick up a bumper sticker (like... More
