After reading the reviews we were not planning on trying Maya's but somehow ended up here. We were looking for the Maya's "to go" thinking we could try something small because some of the reviews really brag about the food. We asked directions and a very nice guy on a scooter said follow me. The service was fine but the... More

My wife and our two daughters (15 & 6) had a wonderful dining experience at Maya's :) The service, food, and ambiance were outstanding. Our waitress Lora mad our night perfect from attending to my 6 year old daughter needs and even making a make-shift bed out of two cushioned chairs when she was tired, to making sure that we... More

This restaurant is HIGHLY overrated. Food is much better on the side of the road in any Caribbean island! for a 1/50th of the price. well I am glad I got invited and I did not have to pay.. the only thing they are missing is: plastic chairs and disposables plates and knives... that would go perfect with the food,... We had dinner last Saturday night at Maya's. We have been there a number of times over the last couple of years. It was surprislingly quiet for a Saturday night. The table next to us included Rick Steves (the Travel Author). I would be VERY curious to hear his comments on dinner. We were all very disappointed in the quality... More

Just returned from a wonderful 5 days and the only low point was eating here.Totally over rated food served very casually. Each dish was described to us meticulously by the owner but his description fell very far from reality.Plain tasteless salads, fish that was just passable and lamb chops with tasteless vegetables.I had a dessert of apples and creme chantille that... Dinner with another couple we had met on the cruise. We called earlier that day and we could either be seated at 6:30 p.m. or at like 10 p.m. We arrived early and found the place deserted except for restaurant and wait staff having dinner making ready for the evening. Strongly recommend getting a cab there if you can find... More

We went to Maya's last week...it was the worst restaurant we experienced during our three weeks stay on St Barth!!! We had a glass of Chardonnay (150ml 19 Euro each), as a starter Pasta Carbonara with green asparagus, which tasted boring and tasteless..it just had a bit of butter, 5 pieces of asparagus and a little salt...the price was around... If this restaurant weren't so hyped, it might be somewhat tolerable. A recent meal there was mediocre and ordinary at best. And the cost was way over the top. Not a single dish could be thought of as interesting or memorable, And the much-vaunted Caribbean spices and flavors are something one must strain to find. A side of poor quality... More

Everyone recommends Maya's, and everyone likes it pretty well. The restaurant is located just next to the beach close to Gustavia, and you feel the breeze off the ocean, though you can't really see much because it's not lit. It's close to the industrial section of the harbor and a little hard to find in the dark the first time... More
